I went to Best Deal Computer hoping to get a cheap PC for an entertainment center. But their prices were out ragous for what they had. I was disapointed that I couldn't get what I wanted. They were asking for nearly 600 bucks for 1 ghz pc.
So I went to Fry's Electronics and picked up a 2.66 ghz with everything including speakers and keyboard for 277. I bought another stick of ram for it so it has 378 megs.
So I wouldn't go to BDC.

Left TV for 'one week repair' of picture tube. They called with estimate after two weeks. Called after another month, 'Your part was backordered, so the supplier canceled your part'.
After 2 1/2 months, 'your TV is ready'. Paid the ransom, got TV home, now the sound is screwed up... just goes POP and quits.

This place is located on the corner of 5th right next to a trolley stop. It is kind of easy to miss with all the business of the corner and the trolley stop, but it is worth it to go in, it will save you lots of money. I bought a friend a jacket from there as a present, they thought it was from a boutique it was so cute. This place has shirts, dresses, pants, jewelry for under $5. It is amazing! Make sure to look around upstairs as well because there is all the children's clothing and an assortment of random shirts and dresses against the wall in the back.

5th Avenue Books is really cool because they sell both new and used books at great prices! It's really fun to browse through all their titles. You can buy books here much cheaper than at Borders or Barnes and Noble and it's nice to support local businesses instead of big chains. Anyway, if you find yourself downtown, stop by the store one time. I guarantee you will be hooked!

This is the Vons or Albertson's equivalent for an oriental grocery store, and then some. The sheer size of this place always impresses me, but not as much as when I find something new in there for the first time. They have all kinds of oriental foods, with large selections of noodles, pastries, juices, sauces, and other goodies to make you a superstar oriental chef. But the most impressive thing about this place is the ginormous selection of fresh fish and crustaceans to rival any fish market on the east coast. The prices are better than reasonable and the place is also exceptionally clean. Two big thumbs up.

A Digital House will take all of your old photos and film, in any format, and put it all on a DVD for you. The result is incredible. I had a ton of old photos that were badly preserved and would be destroyed if I didn't do something with them soon. A Digital House did an incredibly professional job of putting everything together in a very logical order (according to year) and even set the "slide show" to music I had chosen. I had 10 copies made for family and the price was cheaper than any of the competitors I had checked out.

A Few of My Favorite Things is another treasure hiding at Seaport Village. This store has a good selection of collectibles, knick knacks and trinkets. It would be a wonderful place to pick up a souvenir, but is really a great place to buy a nice gift. The employees are friendly and helpful and will take the time to help you pick out the perfect gift.
