If you like a fun and loud place with lots of food, this is the place for you. For an extra special occasion, make a reservation for the "pope" table, where you and 16 of yoru guests can sit at a round table with a bust of the pope in the center. My favorite dishes are the warm spinach salad and the baked ravioli. Always busy and always fun.

The food takes awhile to come though, so it gives a nice opportunity to socialize. Just when you feel like you cant come up with another conversation, the food comes.

This restaurant is not what I expected. I expected fully authentic Italian and what I found was that its more of an Authentic Italian Restaurant meets TGI Fridays. The portions are large, but the prices follow suit. But the food is good assuming you know what to order. Bring a group and have a blast.

If you want to have fun with family and friends and also want to eat some pretty good pizza or italian food as a fringe benefit, then Buca's is the right place for you. The food portions are extremely large and easily feed two very hungry people with some left over to go home with. One of the best attributes about this place is the overall festive ambiance from the moment you walk in; there are also several special tables with different themes you can call and reserve ahead of time. Overall, a great place to hang out with family and friends.

I first visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner celebration. This is one of the best places in San Diego for a festive family style dinner. Portions are large, delicious, and made for sharing. Large groups are best so you can order lots of dishes and try a bit of everything. My favourite dish there is the marsala chicken. In addition to great food, the atmosphere is energetic and fun. The walls are painted in bright colours, while the decorations and music make you feel like you might actually be in Italy.

cool ambiance in this restaurant. It has some interesting decor, with some weird pictures on the wall, but it will keep you entertained I suppose. The prices are a tad hefty, but wait until you see the portion size. they have HUGE portions and you will most likely be bringing some with you when your done. It's pretty good italian food though and it was a fun experience. Great for a date or night out.

As it states on the wall, this italian resturaunt serves "emigrant" style food in LARGE portions. Pizza is bathtub-mat sized, and everything else comes in huge portions. The walls are decroated on the second floor with an alarming amount art of nude men (wait till you see the mens room!)[question - was the owner gay?]
It is not the best place for children, due to the above reasons, and the fact that it might create some embrassing questions...
Anyways, the food here is not that great. If your looking for a higher class italian (more then Olive Garden) try Mona Lisa's downtown by the airport.
