The thai food here is great! the lunch specials are a good deal and come with a spring roll, soup and salad. When they ask you 1-10 spicy rating be advised that the spicy here is SPICY! Normally I can take really spicy foods, but even a 6 is too much for me. Also, most people would say that thai food is supposed to be spicy, but I really like Pad-sewee (my favorite Thai dish) when it's not as spicy so I can taste the beef and egg with noodle.

In a word: excellent. The Thai food in this restaurant, located in the Von's shopping center in Carmel Valley (just off Highway 56), is fresh, authentic and tasty.I have never taken a friend or out-of-town visitor to this place and gotten a bad review--even from an uppity Manhattan-ite who swore NYC's Thai food couldn't be topped. After dinner, she readily admitted it was the best Thai she'd ever tasted. Another friend, who has been to Thailand many times, loves this restaurant--her favorite dish is the Green Papaya Salad.
My husband and I usually get the fresh veggie spring rolls and Spices Kai Curry chicken--a large dish with bone-in chicken breast surrounded by potatoes, onions and carrots in a rich, thick coconut curry sauce. I've heard the seafood and Panang curries and the spicy eggplant dish are also very good.
You can choose the spiciness level of your food on a 1-10 scale. Be careful. I saw a young woman in the restaurant one night actually crying because she'd ordered her food too spicy hot. We usually go for a 4 or 5 tops. The service here is friendly, efficient and though the restaurant has a classy ambiance, you'll feel at home there in jeans.

i came here for lunch and had the pad thai with bbq pork. i though that it was just ok. it came with won tons, soup and a salad. if you dine in, the restaurant is really nice and the service, friendly. if i need a quick fix for lunch and i'm nearby, i'd probably go back. but there are other good thai restaurants elsewhere.

This place is good. I'm super picky, especially about non-American food, and the food here is delicious. It is a good place to go for lunch. You get a lot of food for a low price and you will walk away feeling very satisfied. They actually have three locations - Mira Mesa, Carmel Valley and Rancho Bernardo. You can order your food with a spicy number based on how hot you like your food. I like spicy food but I order mine as a five. Yum, just thinking about this is making me hungry!

Very nice place for a meal; its very clean and the staff is very couteous. The food is alway very good.
They have several different types of curries, and some of their own specialties. The Spicey coconus sout (Tom Kah Kai) is the best I've tasted.
We've always eaten inside or done take-out.
