Great Food, Great Service, Great View, if you are looking for a great date night restaurant this is the place. This is one of San Diego's best for atmosphere and food.

The food is pretty good, they have decent vegetarian options. Its a great place to hold banquets and parties. I definitely recommend this place.

I'm a bit a fanatic when it comes to picking restaurants in cities I visit. I scour reviews, menus, locations, talk to people who look like diners, etc. I'm good at tracking down the places that offer food prepared carefully and with the freshest ingredients. I immediately skip anyplace that rotates, is in any, but the best hotels, or that touts "it's breathtaking view". These will be dogs, and the Lighthouse confirmed this philosophy. I was taken here by locals as part of a project kickoff. I expected mediocrity and wasn't disappointed
Dacor - tired, overly themed, dirty
Food - Typical "indulge yourself on this special occasion" fare. Seafood all appeared to be previously frozen, meat was of avg. quality. Cooking skills and presentation were appropriate for a Rotary meeting. Odd ingredients mixed together amateurishly: "Grilled swordfish with mango sauce, served with sun dried tomato rice". Think "fancy" hotel food circa 1978.
Service - mediocre, moderately disinterested, uninformed about wine/food
Overall grade - D+ to C-
Unless you are 17 and on your way to prom you are unlikely to be impressed unless you dine out only very occasionally and must have the view this restaurant affords.
Pros: The view is pretty
Cons: Everything else

This place is awesome. One of the older restaurants on the bay it offers beautiful views and good food. My son who has had crab in just about every restaurant in San Diego voted Toms # 1 in taste and portion size. Even Better than Joe's. The prices are reasonable and competitive with other local restaurants. Just remember, this is not a fast food place.

This restaurant has long been one of my favorites, my husband proposed to me at this restaurant! HOWEVER, on Jan. 28, 2007, we went to the Champaign Brunch, I was drinking my Champaign when my husband stopped me very suddenly there was a good size piece of the glass Champaign bottle in the bottom of my glass. Had my husband not stopped me I could have been badly hurt by this. When we called the Manager over to alert her to what happened she felt bad and said they would do something about it and they would contact me later that week. They NEVER contacted me not even to say they were sorry or anything. They have been incredibly rude every time I have called. ALL I CAN SAY IS BEWARE!!!!

This restaurant has incredible views; but only if you are seated near one of their large windows. The place usually consists of college-student waiters and over-the-hill crotchety old couples, with interesting results. A bit overpriced for the quality, the views are the main attraction. The main dining area is upstairs, with the downstairs patio and other rooms reserved for private parties. The bar upstairs is dark and inviting and I've had some nice experiences there. Since living in LA, I've gained perspective that I didn't have at the time and realize that this place just can't hold a candle to places up here. But for San Diego, this is a fancy restaurant on the peninsula near the airport.
Pros: amazing views, decent seafood
Cons: bit snobby, prices
