While it is not a place with bells and whistles it is comfortable and the food is always great. I have my favorite dish so I am hard pressed to try something new. When I do try new things I am pleasantly surprised, although, one time I tried the pork quesadilla and was disappointed. I have not ordered it since. For Starters – the Calamari is a great choice to share. I actually taste Calamari and not batter. The wasabi-chili mayo adds a wonderfully spicy bite. Ask about the soups for the evening or have the field of greens salad. The Starters make great meals in themselves so you could stop here and move on to dessert. My best meal was the pork chop. It has been three years and I remember it melting in my mouth like it was yesterday. I always go for the Roasted Veggie Ricotta Pie but guilt myself into trying new things. I have tried almost the entire menu and except for that Pork Quesadilla I have not been disappointed. It is always a good idea to listen to the specials before you peruse through the menu; the menu will never change. The desserts are great – in particular the bread pudding! Not much more to say here – they offer 4 or 5 items and they are great. I go more often for dinner but breakfast every now then is a treat. The chilaquiles is a yummy way to start the morning! I am a creature of habit so I have only tried one other breakfast item and it was just fine. I did miss my chilaquilies though. If you are not an early riser you will have a wait for breakfast but it is typically not more than 20 minutes. The wait staff is pretty good and if you are lucky enough there is one gentleman who knows how to pair great wine with your dinner choice. Seating indoor and outdoor offers wonderful views with heaters on the cooler nights. They do recommend reservations but unless it is a special occasion there is always room if you show up at the last minute. I do need to note that ownership has changed and I have only been once since the change took place. There have been some changes in prices, wine selection has increased and there are some offers that are no longer offered (sorry KPBS members).
