I had heard so many great things about the Hash House, so I took my husband one morning for breakfast. We didn't have to wait long for two, only about ten minutes, but I can see how the wait could have been much longer. The place was small, bright and cozy, with very artistic upscale decor, so we weren't sure what to expect in pricing. They had Saturday morning cartoons on and all the servers seemed to be in a good mood. When our food arrived we were SHOCKED. The plates were seriously three times the size a normal plate and piled high with potatoes, ham, fruits, vegitables, bacon, EVERYTHING! They had 4 people bring the two of us our breakfast. I wish I could have seen the look on my face. Our server said "don't be scared, just dig in!" We were so impressed with the quality and quantity for the price we paid for our meals. We were full until dinner that day and still had some left over that we ATE for dinner!! Hash House now opened up a dinner version of their restaurant down the street called the Tractor Room. We haven't been yet, but are definatley planning to go!

I tried this place for breakfast. It was buzzing with business. I tried their hash since it is what it supposed to be known for. The quantities are huge. They also have a unique juice collection, including guava, passionfruit and tangerine. I found the food okay. It wasn't traditional hash, a mash of shredded potatos, but was instead potato cubes cooked with, in my case, roasted chicken. I found the food a little too oily for my tastes, but they definitely have good quantity.

We first tried Hash House for dinner. Yummy! Be warned the portions are giagantic. However, they are also very savory. I've also been here for breakfast a few time. The flapjacks are the size of a hubcap, and the omelettes are fabulous as well. Reservations suggsted for evening, and you can also make breakfast reservations as well. Street parking is fairly easy to come by. Oh, there is also a nice little outside area in back for morning dining as well.

Whether you are looking for “Beer in a Bag” or Pomegranate Mimosa Has Hash will satisfy your hunger for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You will need to bring your appetite as the portions and dishes they are served on are GARGUTUAN! One meal can stuff you silly or last for up to two additional feedings. To the food: There are old stand bys like flapjacks, French toast, waffles and fruit bowls (whatever is in season). Then there are egg variations - hashes, scrambles and benedicts, that turn into another meal altogether with additions like asparagus, basil, brie, chuck roast, goat cheese, chipotle charred tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, and salmon to name mention a few. You have a choice of a biscuit or various selections for toast. On the lighter side you can choose The Basic or the Tractor Driver Combo. If eggs are not for you then you can consider other stuff from the stove like hot granola, bread pudding or the signature quesadilla to name a few. They also have a list of beverages from Coffee and OJ to exotic lattes and mimosas. There is a large selection of wine and I have read wonderful descriptions of lunch and dinner items but I have yet to recover from breakfast to entertain the thought of dinner. Some technical things to note: It is a good idea to get there before you are starving as the wait can be considerable (I have waited up to 30 minutes) and they will not seat you if your ENTIRE party is not present. You are more than welcome to preview the menu while you wait and there is seating outside on the back patio as well. You can share items for a small fee and they take kindly to substitutions. They don’t take reservations for breakfast but you can order food to go if you don’t want to bother with waiting. Hash House is a pretty hip and modern place you can enjoy with your little one, the parents or your friends from Friday and/or Saturday night!

Hash House is all about generous portions and comfort food menu items. Their specialty is breakfast, and it's available all day long. Their omlettes are HUGE and are served with their trademark hashbrowns. The hashbrowns are made to order, and are consistently crisp and spiced just right with salt and a touch of paprika. While the menu isn't "adventerous", it does cover all the traditional American-fare. Sometimes it's just nice to go to a restaurant with familiar favorites, especially when the weather's chilly. The prices are just right too.

This has to be the best brunch place in town. Not only have they won numerous awards for their brunch, but their portions are also HUGE!! Bring an empty stomach and you will still not be able to finish your food. Located in Hillcrest, it is very easy to get to from the 5-freeway or 163-freeway. Go and enjoy!

Before your meal arrives, you get this really good cornbread type muffin with honey butter, but don't fill up on the bread! You will want to save room for dessert. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere and is a good place to go on dates. I've also heard that the restaurant serves the most wonderful brunches but that it can be very crowded. So go early!
