Great place to stop during your shopping trip for an early afternoon snack. Split a small pizza with your significant other. Sit at the far end and watch the trolley load and unload. For the evening meal try the chopped salad. Most of the time in San Diego you can sit outside. Bring the kids. Really great place. Excellent food.

It's so funny to think that pizza can be fancy, but not after you try this place! Sammy's is top notch in their service, atmosphere, and quality of food. I love the fact that they wood fire the pizza fresh right in front of you! I order the Margherita pizza with pepperoni every time I visit and am never let down. The pizzas are small "personal size", but very filling and very tasty. They have local sports on next to the bar if that interests you. This is a good place for a casual first date. If you want a REAL pizza, though try Bronx up the street in Hillcrest.

If you’re looking for real pizza, this isn’t the place. If you’re looking for something new, then you’ve come to the right place. Sammy's is a delicacy pizza restaurant that specialized in making different types of pizza that you don’t find in the mainstream. It can be expensive and yes, one person can eat the entire pizza, (not only have I seen it done, I've done it myself). A meal for one comes out to about $15 +Tax and Tip.

This is gourmet pizza at it's absolute best. As any good gourmet pizza prerequisite, the crust at Sammy's is exceptionally good. The incredible crusts are topped with Sammy's unique gourmet toppings including Thai chicken in a peanut sauce, duck sausage, and a very cheesy four-cheese combination. The salads are very good and come in extra large portions and meant to be shared by the entire table. I highly recommend the Caesar salad. And, by the way, don't forget about dessert: my personal favorite is the Messy Sundae.

I was very impressed with the food and the staff, but the price was a little much for my taste. The food took a little too long to reach the table as well. I think I would only go back if I had a good coupon, or a hot date who loved the place. But I think it is worth trying once.

Not your usual Domino's Pizza pizza, they usually have strange toppings like duck and feta cheese. I usually split a pizza and main dish or large salad. When I say large salad, I mean a "Large" salad, it would be a meal in itself.
Anyway, the prices have gone up recently and I feel the quality has decreased somewhat. It might have been that days' chefs or that it was takeout, but the last meals were somewhat disappointing. I think I'm about ready to try again.
Years ago, this was a popular place to go, but I think that the customers have decrease. They've also opened some other places around San Diego.
Prices a little higher than I like.
