UrbanBody Gym is a fun place I was there one when they had a DJ playing the music. I mean he was mixxing the music right there on the gym floor. I have not seen something like that since I lived in New York. And the club I call it a club because everyone know each other like they where happy to see you. The staff was fun. At a 24hr. fitness they have kids running the place and UrbanBody had people my age running the gym ( Iam around 35). But the DJ was so much fun and I had a great workout on equipment that was all new and they had sso much stuff to use I went back in the morn. before my flight home to LA just to train on the equipment before I left because I not sure when I will be back in San Diego next and we need a UrbanBody Gym and Juice in LA. One more thing the protein shakes I had at the bar where REAL shakes not sugar shakes like Jamba Juice. UrbanBody is a gym I wish I had in my town. The price was right but there where no KIDS and the staff I found was a little older and more freindly then most gyms and the equipment is all new. I never have had a whole workout on new stuff before. Tom L in LA

You two are crazy. Ballys is a way better gym than most gyms I have been to. I have both a membership at Ballys and 24 hour fitness, I enjoy going to Ballys much better. The only con I see is that they close at 8 on the weekends.
Pros: Clean, organized, friendly staff
Cons: Only open til 8 on the weekends

My husband and I have been taking pilates with Selena DiPaolo for several months, and we are both astounded with the results.
My husband is a hair stylist and was ailing with a variety of aches and pains due to the nature of his job. I am so grateful that Selena's teaching has been enjoyed outside of the studio as well as during our sessions. She has given my husband a new sense of body awareness and skills that he can use at work and at the gym. He is now working and working out stronger and safer.

I had a great time during my haircut appointment @ Hip Hair! Even though I arrived a few minutes late, Kellie B., a dread-headed beauty from New York welcomed me and made me feel super comfortable. I showed her a couple pictures of what I wanted in a haircut and she asked me a few questions to make sure we were on the same page. We chatted about interesting topics and found we had alot in common. The salon was super funky and they played really random music; everything from The Clash to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kellie gave me some really good pointers on how to keep my haircolor and some organic products to check out. The end result on my hair was perfect! She even styled it for me to show me what I could do with it. At the end, all the girls working in the salon were sitting around us smiling and checking out my new 'do and talking with us. Everyone thought it was super cute and complimented Kellie on a great job! They even said I should go to hair school to get my liscense because "I looked like I should be doing hair." What a compliment!
During the summer they offer cold Pabst Blue Ribbons to anyone who has to wait for a cut. There were two other men getting haircuts in there during my visit and I must say, they both walked away with great quality cuts! (I would know, my husband is a barber.)
Hip Hair charges just $39 for a haircut, (mine was pretty complex) and after a $10 tip to Kellie I felt like I definatley got my money's worth. I'll definatley be visiting that salon again!!

Not having a background or experience with dance, I started an adult ballet class at CB and was immediately impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the teachers. The format of the class, the interest of the teacher in my success, and the passion for dance was very clear. Much different than a teanaged dancer making extra money for the summer teaching. I also enrolled my young daughter in the tots classes at the Pacific Beach location and though the location and studio was a little uncomfortable, the teachers were so great with the children. They were patient, fun and focused. Great company!

Going to a spa can be quite expensive but as a once in a while treat, it is quite wonderful. Spa Tiki has a good menu of treatments and packages. The rooms are decorated so that you will think you are somewhere in the South Pacific, not in San Diego. From my experience, I would recommend making your own package with a body scrub, massage and a manicure or pedicure. You will walk away feeling wonderful!
