I have been receiving my eye care at Black Mountain optometry for the past two years. I have always received great care from both the optometrist and the office staff. They always spend enough time with me even on my followups to make sure there have been no changes in my vision, almost as if it's the first time they are evaluating me. There is never been a problem with my insurance coverage, but I guess that's obviously something you would want to call in advance and make sure there are no problems. The only nit picking I can do is the turnaround time for contacts and glasses, which usually takes about a week.

Black Mountain Optometry is one of the nicest places to go for a great eye experience. They not only have a great staff and gentle testers but take as much time with you as you need to get your prescription correct. I had to have 2 corrections before mine was done and they did it smoothly and without much time going by. I give them a 4 thumbs up for the atmosphere and the staff.

Well, first of all, there isn't as wide of a selection as Pearle Vision, Lens Crafters... It's local roots would make it an ideal choice for someone who does not want to go to Poway or Carmel Mountain to pick up some glasses. The turn-around time is ok, within a few days. However, there was a probelm with them not able to find my insurance plan or something in the computers. They said they would fix it, and give me call....but a week later, no call. Overall, the quality is ok, but unless you don't want to travel, consider going to Lenscrafters or Pearle Vision...i went to Costco...VERY cheap high qaulity, but a week turnaround time. So, in the end, you are best suited to a larger retailer. I do not know if they carry contacts, but if they do, then that would be the place to go....
