Off the Record is an original independent record store. They carry everything from vinyl to video. They sell new and used and also do buy back's. Any day is a good day at off the record, you are sure to find a prize record or album you have been looking for forever! Staff knows everything about every music, have a tune stuck in you head, they will be able to point you in the right directions. It's been years...but I wish they still had the SDSU location.

Gamestop is absolutely the only stop you'll need to make for your video game needs. They offer great prices on used games, and their selection of used games is always rotating and is very diverse. There aren't duplicated copies of games that won't sell. They also have several games that I haven't been able to find elsewhere (other than for twice the price on the internet) and they'll even take your special requests and try to find that certain game you've been trying to find. They get the new games as quickly as the chain stores, and at competitive prices.

One of the few music stores left. They sell used and new music CDs. Good if you are trying to find an old CD. Their selection is alphabetized so it is easy to find your CD. You can also listen to CD's with their system using a headphone. I usually buy my CD's online but it’s a good place if you really need it now.

Even though relatively small for a music store, Access Music is aptly name because it gives you access to some hard to come by albums. They seem to concentrate on hip hop, but they have a fair share of R & B, top 40, soft and hard rock, jazz, country, and all the major music players on the scene. I don't think I saw a lot of bluegrass... Anyway, their staff is very helpful and will show you where to find what your looking for instead of pointing you in some random direction with a finger. I like going to this store to browse around and find something I didn't even know about before.

Scot and the gang put on a party the was absolutely the best party I could have ever imagined!!!! Everyone did a better than great job and my wife, daughter and I were so pleased with the outcome!!!! Scott has been doing Mackenna's birthday for year and we will continue to use him in the future. IT WAS THE BEST!!!!!! We loved the night club idea and the "Mackenna Bucks". Scott was also fantastic as the D.J. The girls did much more than was expected of them and we really appreciated their help!

Sun Diego Surf Skate Snow is a a great store. This place is every surfer's and skater's dream. They carry many brands that I grew up with... and now my kids are also wearing. They have Billabong, Rip Curl, Quick Silver, Lizzard, Reef, Hurley, Etnies, and of course Roxy!! The only thing disappointing about this place is they don't have sale or clearance items that often. I would love to see more clothes marked down; the clothes are just too expensive when it's regular price.
The employees are always willing to help. I have never met a rude employee yet. I guess not only is Sun Diego Surf Skate Snow a cool store, but it's also a cool place to get a job.

Tower Records has been a staple in the San Diego community for many years. At one time there were numerous locations and this was the place to buy records, especially ska, mod and alternative rock.
Unfortunately the times have changed and this location is only one of a few left in existence. It's still a great music store and you can find many harder to find music albums here. The locations is right off of Sports Arena Blvd so parking can be at a premium at certain times of the day. There is definitely an eclectic crowd that enters the store but everybody has one thing in common, music.
Take a visit and I'm sure you'll find something to take home with you.

CD Trade, in PB, offers a wide selection of both used CDs and DVDs. I have not purchased any CDs there, but have picked up some used DVDS. The prices are hit or miss. You can find some very cheap movies, while some seem pretty high for a used DVD. The selection is pretty good and encompasses a wide variety of genres. If you are in the market for some CDs or DVDs I would recommend stopping by CD Trader first to see if you can find it used.
