I've been for happy hour, dinner and the tasting menu and none disappointed. The beef is always perfectly cooked and the seared foie gras is to die for. The wine list is also wonderful. Once I made a reservations because everyone in my party wanted to try the foie gras and have a drink, but when we arrived they were out and failed to tell us before we were seated, even though I had mentioned the reason when I made the reservation in person just a couple hours earlier. Usually, though, the service is fantastic and interior is probably the most lovely in all of SD.
Pros: Great food in a lovely atmosphere
Cons: Can occasionally slip up with service

Let's just say we flew from Hawaii, drove from LAX to San Diego specifically to eat at Blue Point! Well sort of, we were supposed to stay in Anaheim for 3 nights but only stayed 2 nights. We spent the day driving, sleeping in San Diego, ate dinner, slept and went to Anaheim. So sort of...
I think what makes the Blue Point so special is the flavors and the techniques exhibited by Chef Jonathan Hale and his staff. I say techniques because of the perfection of the fish as well as their steaks. My first visit in April during a business trip I ordered the NY steak and had to remind myself it wasn't a filet. It was tender and done to perfection. This time we had fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, soup, halibut and ribeye. Everything was superb! The flavors were distinct in every dish with a "WoW" factor in every bite.
Let me also mention that on both occasions the wait staff was incredible with great advice and answers to our questions. They made the experience so much enjoyable. Getting back to Jonathan, we had a chance to meet him as he was walking by and let me just say that he is truly a gentleman and very approachable. He truly makes this a special restaurant that we will frequent anytime we are in CA. I told him to open one in HI!
Pros: The food! Fish and steaks, fresh oysters, service
Cons: parking

I would have to agree with the rest of the reviews for Exy here, I went for dinner last week with my girlfriend and we were both very impressed. The decor and ambience is very nice and sleek and the service was excellent. The food was the greatest highlight though, I had the lamb which was superb we had the flaming appetiser to start, which I forget the name of but was also great. We will definately be returning again soon and will be recommending this spot to our friends!

Aladdin has the best gyros I've found in San Diego, as well as falafel and other standard Mediterranean dishes. The service is efficient but not terribly friendly, and the prices are a little steep, but the ambiance is nice.

Valentine's Day on a Saturday Night - good thing we had reservations! This place was a real treat. The decor was interesting and fun and romantic with the twinkly lights and murals all over. The music was delightful! The food was GREAT - we a lovely pork dish that was paired for us with a very nice bottle of Portuguese wine. The dessert was a wonderful coffee/orange/chocolate cake. Wow. Yummmmmm..... Not like anything else anywhere else. The restaurant is located in Ocean Beach and parking is a challenge, so allow ample time to find someplace to park.

They have doner kebabs. My prayer has been answered. And they're damn good. Stoked on this establishment. If anyone has been to Europe and experienced the doner kebab, they have a place to relive it.
Pros: Simpple menu. Cheap. Always good. Doner kebabs!
Cons: Seating limited. meager parking.

I love this area! There are so many cute little Cafes block by block. Aladdin's is a great place, with good food to go when you are walking around shopping or just out for the day. You can sit outside and there is a really nice atmosphere.
