Truthfully, you can get better pasta at Olive Garden. But, here you can sit outside and feel like part of the Pezza Novante. Food is a bit pricey, quality is ok, not great, not horrible. Cosi', cosi'. So-so. However, probably the best in little Italy, where the Italian food suffers. Better Italian food is found in the Gas-lamp district. When is someone going to open a great Italian place in Little Italy????? When that happens they will RULE! As of now the competition is nowhere.
Pros: Nice sidewalk dining area
Cons: Is not really an Italian eatery

Whenever I go in this restaurant/bakery, I feel like I'm back in Italy. This is the closest you can get in San Diego! They have all the authentic italian desserts that I grew up with. I reccommend anything that they have. I have had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and have been very happy with both. The prices are reasonable and well worth it. Dinning indoor and outdoor.

The service, the coffee, the food, I probably had THE WORST experience I've ever had in a restaurant during the 18 years I've lived in San Diego. First of all, I get there and two of my friends were already seated in the outside terrace, and everything seemed nice. I brought a friend and my dog with me, and it was a busy night for a Thursday. I ordered an iced coffee, not a hard order. He comes back like 10 minutes later with a cup of light brown water. WATER! it tasted like he filled the cup with water from the sink and threw in a few drops of badly brewed coffee. When I told him that the iced coffee had no ice, he said it was because it had melted on the way to the table. WOW. My friend ordered a glass of wine and my other friends a salad and some coffee. Then the hostess starts staring at us, and impatiently comes up and says, "so are you planning on ordering any food? Because this table is for dinner only." My friends were never told it was dinner only. She made us feel very uncomfortable. The waiter then kept hurrying us to get dessert, and before my friend had time to order another wine, he gave us the check. It was like saying, "you're taking up too much air and not paying enough for it, so you need to leave." I then went to the manager who was with the hostess and asked them if there was a problem with us being there, because everyone seemed to be rushing us to leave. The hostess started telling me that we were asked if we were here for "dinner", and we didn't order dinner, we only ordered coffee and pastries. She said that we should know for next time because we were not supposed to have sat there. First of all, a hostess, let alone anyone, does not have the right to talk back so rudely. After I sat down, she went to towards the back and started LAUGHING at me. Her name was Christine, and she was probably the WORST hostess I have ever encountered.
Pros: The Terrace
Cons: Horrible rude service, terrible management, disgusting coffee and pastries

It's amazing how one little place can be so much like Italy. If you like cannoli this is the bakery for you. I enjoy making my own but to find one that tastes just like you arrived in Italy is incredible. The price was a litlle high but worth each and every bite of cannoli.

I have been in your restaurant a couple of times, but the last sunday i was there, i had the worste service i've every recieved. We were not properly sat-down in our table, we were instructed to order our food on the counter and pay before even getting our food. There were no waiters serving us. It took more than half an hour just to get our drinks, our water were never poured in our glasses, and we had to wait longer for our food. Our food was cold when served, and was not given the proper orders we requested. I requested to have cheese on my omelet, so when one of the busers came to take my food to change it, it was very obvious that when i got the food i requested for, the cook simply just 'slapped' the cheese on top of my omelet. Later, when i asked one of the waiters to give us a to-go box, he said "sorry, but i am not your buser". We are VERY disappointed with your customer service.
Pros: good desert
Cons: horrible service

This bakery makes you feel like you are back in Florence! Gelato, tiramisu, tarts, cannoli, cakes. Do not go here if you are on a diet, or at least split something. But you probably won??t want to. This little bakery in Little Italy has great ambiance, coffee and baked goods. The owners are really customer-oriented and will often make their rounds to make sure everyone is having an enjoyable experience. A little expensive.
