I had been looking for my dream nursery for years (searching up and down all of Southern California) and all along it was in my own backyard: right in South San Diego! El Sembrador Nursery has a great selection of every type of landscaping product out there. From shrubs, trees and palms of all sizes to top-of-the-line soils, mulches and barks as well as beautiful statuary and fountains, this nursery is the only place I go to when I need to spruce up my garden. And when I get a little carried away and order more than my husband's pickup truck can handle, El Sembrador Nursery delivers! Their prices are extremely inexpensive compared to other nurseries I have visited in the San Diego area. And the best part of all, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and really cares about its customer's needs.

El Sembrador is an all-around great local nursery, and I try to use them for all of my gardening needs whenever I can. However, the one product they sell which I simply cannot be without is their gardening/planting soil. Depending on where you live and the kind of soil you have, El Sembrador will either direct you towards the soil they offer which would best suit your needs, or they will actually make you custom soil if they don't have anything on hand that will be most appropriate for your climate and soil-type. This is so awesome! This personalized service keeps me coming back every year.

This is a real nice nusery with a "one stop shopping" attitude. They have a lot of stuff to offer, including all kinds of exotic trees and shrubs, flower bulbs and seeds, and anything else that you want to stick in the ground and watch for it to grow. Did I mention that they also have cool extras like amended top soil, organic compost, supreme walk on bark, medium bark, sand, and gravel? Yes, these guys have packed in all you'll need to fix up your landscaping, and then some. The prices are pretty competitive, and they have a pretty liberal return policy on most their products.
