I go to samurai sams three to four times a week. They have best service and fresh meals. I been to all other samurai sam's in San Diego. But the one on Genesee ave close to UTC is the best one. They use fresh chiken unlike other restaurants use frozen. they are specialize in teriyaki bowls.
I love white and steak bowl with yakisoba noodles and crispy veggies.
PROS: friendly and fast service, healthy food
CONS: Occasionaly big lines

It's a great place to go to if you are craving sushi. The chefs are really nice and recommend rolls if you don't know what you want. You can get around 4 rolls for $10.
I recommend the baked volcano roll. The green tea ice cream is great for desert too!

My husband and I stumbled into this restaurant about a year ago and have never been so glad to accidentally find a place! We were not expecting too much from the looks of the place on the outside, but the customer service and quality of sushi has been non-stop amazing for the last year. The owners, Kevin and Mindy, bend over backward to ensure all customers are taken care of in a timely manner whether an order is made from the menu or the sushi bar. What's also great about this place is that even if there are a ton of carryout orders (which is not out of the ordinary), those are taken care of as well as dine in orders without anyone having to wait too long. They have great lunch and dinner specials, and you really get your money's worth here. No one should go through life in San Diego without having Fujiyama's at least once. :o)

We used to come here back in college and always referred to it as our hole in the wall sushi place, but they have gret sushi for a very inexpensive price! Their customer service is not the best - quick food delivery to table but they are rarely around to give you a refill on a soft drink, but then again the place is always packed bc the food is so good, I can understand.
