This hotel is located in the heart of Mission Valley right next to (and walking distance) the wonderful Fashion Valley Mall. The hotel has been in place many years and has had many remodels. The covention area is still quite dated but that doesn't stop this hotel from hosting many fine conventions and it's yearly jazz festival. During one of the many conventions, you can usually have dinner poolside and be warm in the San Diego evenings. Located just off the 8 freeway, it can be a bit noisy and congested but it's still a nice, convenient place to stay. The airport is within 10 minutes from the hotel and the San Diego trolley is within walking distance. Riding the trolley gives you access to many different areas you wouldn't visit normally.
