I have read all the reviews and realized that all the pompous and narrow-minded people should NEVER go to Lucky Seafood and talk about it like those did. I am Vietnamese; this place is very Vietnamese, as I can see. They sell things we usually had in Vietnam, though they are not quite fresh sometime. And they do not offer the best cleanliness, which is why I rate it 4 stars (compare with other Vietnamese markets in SD and OC). We eat things you do not eat, just like you eat things we do not. So, do not call it name disgusting!

i was quite excited when I first found this place. But after looking further in the store, i found that most employees are Vietnamese. Well, I still went ahead and bought some seafood. Let me tell you... I have never had a worse cut of Halibut than this one. The texture and taste was soooo off that it's almost not edible. Now I occasionally go there for maybe some vegetables and pastries. That's about it though. Even some vegetables are just way too old. I think I will just get my Asian food needs from 99 Ranch market.

Get off your cultural high horses people! I had to sign up for this review site after reading the bad reviews about my favorite pho place. If you like pho this is the spot for you. The broth is tasty and the meat is fresh. Also the Jalapenos are terrific. I'm mexican so this place is right up my alley. I just tried the pork sandwich today. $2.75! Crazy. It's barbecued pork on a fresh toasted baguette. You can't go wrong. Yeah the staff is mostly vietnamese and they don't speak the best english but the food and selection is great! I highly recommend it, at least for the food. I have shopped there and the staff was super helpful when I needed help in the veggie section.

There's not much reason to visit this market when you have Seafood City across the street and Mira Mesa Asian Market just down the street. The best thing about this market is that it's close to Ralph's and it shares a parking lot with Jack-in-the-Box. I dont' think it's dirty or scary. But the selection is very weak, the prices are not great, and the service stinks. Why bother?

The place reeks of fish and vegetables. The place is crowded though, you can look for hard-to-find items at really cheap prices. Theres a restaurant and express deli type counter in there as well.
