This is a local business that shows fine art and antiques. This is definately a place you need to stop and check out if you are in the neighborhood. The work changes so no need to stop by only once. It is stuff everyone would like, not just art enthusiasts. I would recommend this to anyone.

Once again I was suckered into checking this place out because of my wife. I thought that buying all the baby clothes at target would be good enough for us but noooooo she had to run off to this store. I can't say that I blame her though. They have a great selection of not only clothes but also other sorts of stuff that having a baby would expect you to have. Their price was comparable to target, if not slightly higher, but their quality was top notch. New parents out there enjoy this place! It should be around for a while!

The Old Globe Theatre is located in the beautiful Balboa Park. This year they are having a Shakespeare festival throughout the summer and are showing three of his plays: Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors and The Winter's Tale. They also have a play running called Moonlight and Magnolias. I would recommend you see any of these plays. Moonlight and Magnolias is a very funny play. And it would be good to see any Shakespeare play at the Old Globe Theatre.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is a thoroughbred racetrack in in the seaside city of Del Mar, California, and approximately 20 miles north of San Diego. It is known for the slogan, "Where The Turf Meets The Surf." It was built by a partnership including Bing Crosby, the actor Pat O'Brien, and Jimmy Durante.
The track races from July to September and draws heavy crowds, especially on opening day. It's definitely the best racing venue in town.

If you are an avid salt water angler pick up the September issue of saltwater sport fishing to see a 4 page spread on Jim's trip to the east cap of Baja, where he landed a marlin! 2nd person ever to land a marlin on a kayak. Watch out, once you get it in your blood your hooked!

After living many years in Seattle, I must confess that I am spoiled as far as independent retailers are concerned. I expect hip and savvy merchandising and expert knowledge. Luckily, M-Theory does not disappoint. In fact, they better than most of the independent music stores out there because they do not have an attitude, a la "High Fidelity."
The store features four listening stations and they rotate the selection quite frequently so you can try out new bands. The selection is very good for indie music, and okay for other genres -- though they are always happy to do special orders. Furthermore, the staff is always friendly...you can also purchase tickets to local music events, and they sponsor in-store events as well. Their e-newsletter is funny too.
They have a sister store sort of kitty-corner to the original store, and it stocks vinyl and the used CD collection. The vinyl selection is awesome, and the atmosphere is very fun in a kitschy, parent's-basement-from-the-70s sort of way.

I visited San Diego last year and ofcourse planned a trip to the "World Famous" zoo. I'm glad I did. We started at 8am and did not finish until 530pm. I dont know if we even saw everything. We didn't take any organized tours, we just walked the park ourselves. We had a great lunch at the restaurant. It reminded me of a tree house. One of my favorite exhibits was the koala bear exhibit. They are so cute and very lazy. The whole exhibit is a deck and its eye level with the tree tops so you can see them. Alot of the exhibits made me feel like I was alot closer to the animals than I actually was. The bird exhibit was great too. I dont want to give away all the details. The San Diego Zoo is a must see!

I used to go to balboa park for the park aspect....since they had swings in one of the areas. My friend and i started to wander around, and found that there is much more than just a park with some swings. I love walking through Balboa park and wandering through the different museums.I love sitting around reading a book in the sun around the beauty of the park. Its one of the most relaxing places in San Diego.

House of Strings is an acoustic guitarist's dream. You can purchase your guitar, have it serviced regularly and repaired, tuned, and take lessons all in one building! House of Strings really stands behind their products, and often I've brought my guitar in for repairs (I purchased it there) and they didn't even charge me, as they felt the problem shouldn't have happened so soon after purchase. They also host local and national musicians, who perform mostly on weekends, and at no charge. This is just a great music store. The staff is friendly and great lovers of their work.
