Stooped in years ago for an Eye Exam. Dr Chessner said you are OK ! See you next time! TWO years later had him exam my eyes. All OK NO Need For new Glasses. Replaced nose pads cleaned and secured my frames. All OK!Came back again a year later for another exam. Thorough exam as usual! All OK. NO NEED For new Glasses! so he Tuned up my glasses! This guy TWICE could have sold me Glasses but did not !VERY Professional ! Very nice place to do business. I have suggested friends to him and all are very happy!DR Chessner is a gentleman and a Great Guy!Dr Chessner is my family Eye Doctor!

I just had my eyes checked by Dr. Chesner. It was a very through exam. It was the first time anyone took a picture of the inside of my eye. They had lots of frames to choose from. I don't know why that reviewer really nailed them on her review. (Some people are just like that. Nothing makes them happy) They explained to me exactly what VSP paid for and what I had to pay for. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. It was a really, really good experience.

I had the best experience with Dr. Chesner and his staff. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable at their office while I had my exam. I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Chesner and I would refer anyone to him and his staff. I have VSP insurance and the investment I had to put towards my glasses/contacts was perfect! The last review that was left must not had her contacts in because she doesn't know how to spell receive or deceiving. I give them 5 stars!

I am absolutely horrified by the experience I had with this doctor's office. I was thrilled to find an optometrist close to home with Saturday hours. I went in on September 20th for my first appointment. I was disappointed to find out that I was going to have to pay for part of my prescription out of pocket, but I paid the additional $101. I was promised an invoice to explain the costs. I came in the following week on September 27th and indicated that I was having periods of blurry vision. The doctor did not offer any explanation or possible methods of treatment. I was told that my contacts would be ordered and that I would be called when they came in. I was put off that I had paid for contacts that had yet to be ordered. If they were going to wait to order them, they should have waited to bill me. It is now October 28th and I never recieved a call or invoice. When they called me back today, they apologized for not calling me and offerred to order me some trial lenses to make it up to me. I went to pick up my order and received two boxes, a three month supply. I was shocked. I knew something had to be wrong. I went onto VSP, my vision insurance provider. They were charged 120.00 for my contacts. I was charged 101.00 on top of that. The total was 221.00 for contacts. I looked it up online and a box of the most expensive prescription (I have a different one for each eye) was $49.95. So in the very least I should have had four boxes total! I will be contacting my vision insurance and reporting them.

Dr. Chesner is a great eye doctor. He did a really extensive eye exam and explained in great detail everything he was doing. The office is full of hundreds of eyeglass frames to choose from. His staff helped me find the perfect one for my face. They were very helpful and worked with me to make sure that I was happy. His office is right above Mission Valley, so it was central to everything in San Diego. Try him -- it was a very good experience.
