Our experts have lived in San Diego for 20 years and think that Pearl has the best dim sum in the city. That's saying quite a bit in a city overrun with Chinese folks.
The dim sum is quick and hot and pretty authentic. It is sometimes a little wierd to order from someone who isn't Chinese there since the menus are both in English and Chinese that shouldn't be a problem.
Best items are the chang fen and the shi fan. Ask a Chinese friend what these are!

I think this is one of the best places in San Diego for good but simple Chinese food at good prices. There are plenty of good places in Clairemont too but this place is nice and close to me. The lunch specials are awesome.

This food is off the hook! Buy the duck or chicken by the half or whole pound and eat it with home cooked rice and you've got yourself a meal for the whole family. The prices are really affordable! Though it may taste like a lot of msg, its soo addicting!

Best authenctic Thai food I have had in a very long time. Very consistent. Great wine and beer selection too. And open till 3AM, seven days a week. No more whining that I can not get great food late into the night.
Pros: GREAT food. They also validate parking at the Union Bank Building.

OMG! If you haven't eaten here you must be crazy. Best chinese I've ever tasted. Their crispy garlic chicken is to die for. Never seen it on any other menu in any other place. I think it's a secret family reciepy. The fried rice is out of this world too. You must try this small mom and pop joint where they make everything fresh to order. I recommend you call in your order first unless you want to wait 15 minutes, I don't mind. You'll never want to eat chinese anywhere else.
Pros: made to order, homemade taste, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices
Cons: 10 to 15 minutes waiting time, small dinning area seats about 10 only, closed sundays

This place has really authentic Chinese food. I loved all the dishes that I ordered - the waitresses are nice ladies and are willing to satisfy our every request. the desserts are fresh and the bomb!
