I was born in Manhattan and grew up in the Bronx and Long Island. I've been eating pizza forever (excluding 2 years outside Chicago as a child where one cannot find NY style pizza). My wife claims my body is comprised of stacked pies. Matt's guys bake a truly superior pie - better than you'll find in 99.9% of NYC pizzerias, including Ray's. Thin, crisp crust with excellent flavor & texture. Premium tomato sauce & cheeses (yes, there is a major difference between premium ingredients and what you'll find dumped on most pizzas), and properly seasoned ovens. Be sure to eat in. Transporting the pies causes them to lose their crispness.
Pros: Authentic NY pies & slices served with NYC attitude.
Cons: Parking is always a challenge. No salad.

My wife and I were visiting from Houston, TX, and we actually felt we'd be dissappointed coming from a state who's Mexican food is the best in the land. However, we were greatly suprised with OTMC!!
The tortillas are fabulous and served too hot to handle, Texas could learn a lesson from these babies. We had guacomole and ceviche as starters and both were outstanding. Having been to El Agave two nights before where the avacodos were hard as green pears, we were concerned but ordered anyway. It couldn't have been better! The ceviche was very good, but not excellent. It contained only white fish (like the munu stated), but had great flavor and plenty of fish, unlike those that try to strech it by adding too much tomatoes and onion.
My wife designed her own plate with a chicken enchallida, a cheese enchallida, and a tostado. She was extremely impressed and didn't leave a morsel. I had the carnitas platter; unlike Texas carnitas it didn't have any sauce served on it, but the pork as tasty as it was.
After two margaritas each and the meal described above we walked out for $65 (including tip), feeling we had just finished a meal fit for a "Mexican" king. Two nights before we left El Agave with a $144 tab, and not nearly as impressed with the food quality.
Again, this comes from a couple of Texan's who eat Mexican food in restaurants at least 3 times a week. Next time in San Diego, we'll have OTMC on our agenda for a couple of nights.
Pros: Food, Service, Value for Money
Cons: Parking, Wait, Noisy

I was born and raised in San Diego and I have yet to go to a better breakfast spot. Love their lunches too! Delish turkey sausage! Huge man-hole size pancakes with fun original flavors like captain crunch, perfect eggs and breakfast potatoes!!! YUM YUM YUM!!! For lunch the burrito is HUGE and scrumptious! The tuna melt is the best I've had.. and so is the mac and cheese- very creamy and decadent! This place is the BEST!!!
Pros: EVERYTHING!!
Cons: you'll crave it all the time!

My top ice cream shop used to be Baskin Robbins but not until I visited Cold Stone for the first time. Their ice cream is very delicious. I recommend only ordering a small though because the portion sizes are huge and also leave a dent in your wallet. Also bring a water with you when you eat this ice cream its so rich that it will make you extremely thirsty

The decor and atmosphere are informal, but the "cozy" feeling and the phenomenal food on a cold (for SoCal) winter night was out of this world.

a favorite since returning from Saipan in the Marianas. Be prepared to wait outside, which we like so we can chat up other folks, people watch, tell jokes or go in and wait at the Bar. If you like noise it's good and you can still carry on a conversation. Watch what you order because you get healthy sized portions, especially on the Sushi Combos. My favorite is the Best Combo with some hot Saki or a Large Beer... Then take a long walk and feel the warmth of a tasty meal and a satisfied tummy. yum!

Just spent a lovely afternoon at Cafe 976. Had lunch and the Hot Caprese on sourdough with chicken added was mouth wateringly good. With the magnolia tree providing shade and the flowers everywhere I feel transported away from my busy day. The iced almond joy was so good I had a second one with the lemon bar. Caffeine and chocolate to keep you buzzing. That is seriously the best iced coffee drink I have ever had. Sometimes you have to switch to the Thai iced tea for a change of pace. Being a transplant, I love how friendly people are, both the customers and the servers. The table service is really an improvement over the old system and if you just want drinks or to go items you don't have to wait in that line anymore on the weekends. I love to bring out of town guests here. It really shows off what PB and San Diego is about, a relaxed good time.
Pros: Garden, ambience, distinctive food
