I dropped into Lanna because the line at Sushi Ota next door was much too long (as always!). I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor and good food, given this is tucked away in a non-descript mini-mall in PB. The tropical duck was very good, as was my chicken in peanut sauce. Definitely plan to return.

Whenever a friend comes to town, going on a date or a normal night this restaurant delivers. The service is friendly and seating is quick. Can rely on quality food, tasting a new dish everytime, with no disappointment. Prices are reasonable and ambiance full of life. Parking available in the rear of the building as well.
Pros: friendly staff, fast service, great food
Cons: not enough room to try dessert

Lanna Thai Cuisine gave the whole family a great experiance. We loved the rice so much that we took some to go home with us. We will certainly go back!

While scouring local restaurants on this website, I came across Lanna Thai and decided to give it a try. The food was amazingly fresh, well prepared, and served by a friendly staff. I'd like to consider myself a Thai food expert because I eat it so often and I must say... Lanna Thai was as good as any Thai restaurant that I have ever been to. It has the added value of being relatively cheap and very close to where I live (Pacific Beach/Bay Park). You must try the Tom Yum Soup which was superb. I eat there yesterday and I just might go there again today (kind of ridiculous but it was that good).
Pros: FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, Service, Price, Ambience
Cons: Might have to park on side streets, Neighboring businesses (7-11, Planned Parenthood)

Our New Year resolution is to try a new restaurant (for us) every other week. The first pick was mine and after some searching came up with Lanna Thai Cuisine. What a great choice. We were welcomed and seated promptly (arrived around 6:45 - no reservation) but could see that beyond 7pm would require a reservation. Clean, nicely decorated, and the service was quietly efficient and attentive. Our waitress was pleased to agree with our menu choices but was not comfortable recommending as she stated each person is different and has different tastes. I chose the Tropical Duck and my friend went with Island Treasures. Neither of us was dissapointed. The presentation was beautiful and drew an exclamation. The "Island Treasures" was served in a young coconut shell. Spices were perfectly balanced. We had planned to share but the food was so good we were both too selfish to spare more than a bite to taste. Next time I will take friends and more appetite for a desert of fried bananas with ice-cream.
