All you roller coaster aficionados already know this. While the ride is not long it is worth it. If you have never ridden a wood coaster you have to give it a shot, it's not just the ups and downs. It's the entire experience, the wood shaking, the noise...and the fear of it falling all apart. Well this coaster is very safe for all. There are amazing views from the top of the coaster; you can see all of mission and pacific beach. Fun time for all!

The San Diego Museum of Art features, in my opinion, the greatest selection of art. The pieces are very ecletic and range from great impressionistic pieces to contemporary and cubist art. They have several rotating exhibits that change ever three or four months, and I make an effort to see each new one as it passes through. Admission is free on Tuesdays, but if you can't make it that day (it's usually really busy anyway, especially during the summer), it's well worth the price to stop in anytime. It's a great first exposure to art for children, as the museum is more child-friendly than most.

Mission Trails Regional Park is huge. I went to a trailhead that is located near Santee and near Kumeyaay Lake Campground. The hiking was really great there. They have paper maps that you can take with you while you hike. The maps also recommend other good hikes. The Kumeyaay Campground looked like it could be a good place to stay if I liked to camp. It had showers. The lake is kind of small but I saw a couple of guys fishing. Anyway, this is a great place to spend a morning!

I visited San Diego last year and ofcourse planned a trip to the "World Famous" zoo. I'm glad I did. We started at 8am and did not finish until 530pm. I dont know if we even saw everything. We didn't take any organized tours, we just walked the park ourselves. We had a great lunch at the restaurant. It reminded me of a tree house. One of my favorite exhibits was the koala bear exhibit. They are so cute and very lazy. The whole exhibit is a deck and its eye level with the tree tops so you can see them. Alot of the exhibits made me feel like I was alot closer to the animals than I actually was. The bird exhibit was great too. I dont want to give away all the details. The San Diego Zoo is a must see!

This is the best place to go to get a glimpse of the history of early western art.
I love their Baroque pieces, as it brings you back in time with Rembrant
To my suprise they also have a few pieces of the Roccoco Era in their fancy, light, and decorative styles.
It's a place you can go agian and again and always find something new, or come out with a new inspiration....if you love art history that is...

More
San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter draws San Diegans and visitors alike to its shops and restaurants. On streets filled with beautifully-restored, nineteenth-century buildings, shops such as the Cuban Cigar Factory, Galeria del Sol and Le Travel Store vie for attention.
Today, historic buildings have been relocated to the Gaslamp Quarter from other parts of the city, their nineteenth century architecture restored to its former glory. Restaurants, shops and clubs occupy former brothels and saloons.
The Gaslamp Quarter is a sixteen-square-block area on Broadway and K Streets between Fourth and Sixth Streets. There is a 550-space parking garage at Sixth and Market Streets.
To avoid traffic and parking hassles, take the San Diego Trolley to Gaslamp Station or 5th Avenue Station and walk to the the Gaslamp Quarter.
Liveliest at night, go in the day for the historic tours.
