I was born and raised in San Diego and I have yet to go to a better breakfast spot. Love their lunches too! Delish turkey sausage! Huge man-hole size pancakes with fun original flavors like captain crunch, perfect eggs and breakfast potatoes!!! YUM YUM YUM!!! For lunch the burrito is HUGE and scrumptious! The tuna melt is the best I've had.. and so is the mac and cheese- very creamy and decadent! This place is the BEST!!!
Pros: EVERYTHING!!
Cons: you'll crave it all the time!

I've been dining at World's Famous for years. Every vacation in San Diego ends with dinner there. Try the lobster bisque and the fish taco's. They have a great happy hour as well. Don't forget to go for the sunset!

Just spent a lovely afternoon at Cafe 976. Had lunch and the Hot Caprese on sourdough with chicken added was mouth wateringly good. With the magnolia tree providing shade and the flowers everywhere I feel transported away from my busy day. The iced almond joy was so good I had a second one with the lemon bar. Caffeine and chocolate to keep you buzzing. That is seriously the best iced coffee drink I have ever had. Sometimes you have to switch to the Thai iced tea for a change of pace. Being a transplant, I love how friendly people are, both the customers and the servers. The table service is really an improvement over the old system and if you just want drinks or to go items you don't have to wait in that line anymore on the weekends. I love to bring out of town guests here. It really shows off what PB and San Diego is about, a relaxed good time.
Pros: Garden, ambience, distinctive food

i was tempted to get the pumpkin pancakes, but i played it safe and had the mexican omlete (i believe) instead. i was with a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. The cafe only sat about 40 some people so it was relatively small. Definitely worth the visit again!
Pros: great in every way

I’ve gone to this cafe since its inception, and it has only gotten better and better. The vibe is friendly, the workers are pleasant and fast, and the food is very good, especially since they’ve been baking their own desserts. The bread pudding is to die for, as are the coffee milkshakes: the Zanzibana is out of sight (simply bananas, ice cream, and espresso I believe). While they discourage too many students just drinking coffee and studying, since it’s a restaurant now, more have been going there for a great lunch and taking their time working while they eat, which the owner supports, and there is never any attitude coming from the staff--quite the contrary, they’re very accommodating to every client. This is and has been the best cafe in Pacific Beach for as long as I can remember!
Pros: consistent great food and service, great ambience
Cons: sometimes the food takes a while, but worth it

Drag queens and great food- shaken, not stirred!
I took my sister to Lips during one of her visits from Georgia and we had so much fun. The food is exquisite, the drinks are great and the waiters... I mean waitresses are fab! They really involve you in the show. Do NOT go there if you want a quiet dining experience! I ended up on stage two times during the 2 hours we were there! Kareoke- I had no choice, they handed me the mic. and through me on stage! Fun Fun FUN!
PROS: Fun dining experience and great eats
CONS: On the pricey side- but it was dinner and a show!

OK, we dined here for brunch on our final day in San Diego. The breakfast options were very delicious--the pecan french toast changed my life, pancakes were light and fluffy, biscuits were exceptional, steak hash was phenomenal. The lunch was really good too: tasty burgers and the chicken and brie sandwich was killer. I loved the white pinot noir - the overall wine list rocked! I promise to return here. 2 hours of free parking!
Pros: Great Menu, Fab Service
Cons: Can't think of any
