The Linkery is the most aggressive eatery in San Diego. Marlies Wasterval, the chef of this two dining room casual bistro is constantly changing up it's dinner menu and implimenting fresh and rare ingredients into her largely successful repertoire. We were in on Sunday and started our meal with their version of artisan PB&J. House made pepita butter and anaheim chile with cranberry jelly on crostini bread. it was delicious! My friend is addicted to the greenbeans that are soaked in ginger soy sauce and grilled over an open fire. She's a vegetarian and we are both happy to see that the linkery is expanding it's vegetarian menu to include such delights as grilled portobello with a rosemary polenta cake and broccoli with a creamy hazelnut sauce. Another of our veggie favorites is the tofu al maiz, grilled tofu, tomato and queso fresco layered in grilled corn tortillas and smothered in roasted tomatillo salsa. If you're like me, and you just cant' get enough protein, try the grilled tasmanian trout! it's covered in roasted corn and red pepper salsa and coupled with avacado mash and lemongrass quinoa. Their specialty is grilled sausage. They typically feature three new sausages every week that you can order stuffed in an artisan roll, along side any of their mains or smothered in cheese laying atop a pile of choucroute. I have not have choucroute this good since frankfurt! I could go on and on about this place as it has become our second home. it's an awesome place to take friends if you want a lowkey friendly environment with greatfood and a brilliant beer and wine selection.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Moderate Prices, beer and wine list
Cons: not a fan of the new no tipping automatic gratuity policy

Bless their busy souls, the Pub masters don't do enough advertising about their incredible gem of a piano player, local singer/songwriter
** JD Boucharde **
who, for tips, plays his heart out and lights up that back room every Saturday night with his own genius originals, current hits and the aforementioned oldies.
Heck, he'll play & sing "Itsy bitsy spider" for your kid if you're tipping him and nobody else is.
Bring the folks too, he'll play them some old Elvis rock or Hank Williams...
Come out, join us, the more the merrier!

Great beer * fun atmosphere* incredible LIVE music *
Pros: The LIVE music of JD Boucharde

Five months ago I took a vacation in San Diego. The desk clerk at the hotel I stayed in recommended Anthony's. I went for lunch and was not disappointed. There was no waiting time and the atmosphere and food were great. I had great service. It was so good that I went back the next night for dinner. I plan to go back to San Diego soon just so I can go to Anthony's.

Dining here for Restaurant Week was such a great deal! It was only $20 for an appetizer, entree and dessert! And the portions aren't smaller either so it's not like they were skimping to make up for the price. It was quite busy for a Thursday night, but my husband and I enjoyed ourselves and the view was very nice too. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. We might even go back next week since they are having an encore of Restaurant Week!

Drag queens and great food- shaken, not stirred!
I took my sister to Lips during one of her visits from Georgia and we had so much fun. The food is exquisite, the drinks are great and the waiters... I mean waitresses are fab! They really involve you in the show. Do NOT go there if you want a quiet dining experience! I ended up on stage two times during the 2 hours we were there! Kareoke- I had no choice, they handed me the mic. and through me on stage! Fun Fun FUN!
PROS: Fun dining experience and great eats
CONS: On the pricey side- but it was dinner and a show!

I've been here a few times and have been pleased with the service and food each time. Even when they are packed for lunch, the service is still pretty fast considering. The food is very good as well and not bland.

After all the buzz about the restaurant, my husband and I decided to give it a try and we weren't disappointed. I'm not a big fan of sushi, but I tried a little and actually liked very much. My husband loves sushi and he believes it was the best sushi in SD. I take his word for. Besides, the place is beautiful. I would go back and recommend.
Pros: Food
Cons: None

This is a great little bar with a personality all its own. Its fun and very intimate. You can kept to yourself or meet lots of interesting people here! Whatever you are up for. This is somewhere me and my husband would sneak away to for breakfast. The prices are extremely affordable.
