I heard this shop was switching out functioning factory parts with after market parts so that they can resell them (without telling customers that parts were replaced). I took my car there a while ago for a "tune up" and got ripped off. They overcharged and told me that I needed a new muffler and other kinds of work done. My car ran much worse after that "tune up". I had to take it to the dealer, who told me that someone unplugged my oxygen sensor and didn't plug it in, causing the engine to stall at stop lights. Also, the rattling sound from the muffler was due to a screw being removed, not because I needed a new muffler. My car never recovered from that experience. Heard the original owner fled to Vietnam. Another On Time Auto has opened in Kearny Mesa. Are they related???

I went to this shop to have my smoke checked, there, I waited for more than two hours although I call ahead to schedule it. and when it is my turn, sb drive my car away and 5 minutes later, they went back and told me that my car failed the smoke check and told me if I want to pass, I need to give them like $150 and they will guarantee that it will pass. my car runs very well before and never have smoke problem, so I ask for the result result trying to see what's wrong, but they just told me it failed. it is suspectful, so I took my car to another shop and surprisely, my car passed without any problem.

This is a pretty dependable auto repair center where you don't always have to go get a second opinion. The technicians are friendly and knoweledgable and you get the sense that they are not trying to rip you off every chance they get. I got my truck serviced there and had no problems. As their name implies, they have a pretty quick and dependable turn around time. The prices for most common repairs are very competitive, although I didn't try to haggle over mine so I don't know if that's possible. Overall, a trustworthy and dependable auto repair shop.
