We love Camp Diego. The staff always seems genuinely excited to see my dog and that makes it so much easier for me to leave him. When I pick him up, they tell me how he did and have even specifically mentioned certain dogs that he plays well with. Last time he stayed, my dog got a bath and looked so handsome when I picked him up. Thanks to Camp Diego for taking such great care of my buddy!

FOCAS meets on occasion in Balboa Park in North Park, CA. I find there services touching and badly needed for all of the unwanted pets in San Diego.
FOCAS is always looking for volunteers for helping out with the organization, but, also, to foster unwanted animals until new homes are found or their owners are found. If you are interested in get a dog or cat with as much love or more than a pure bred than look up FOCAS and meet one of their pets.
Bless their hearts of the staff and volunteers of this wonderful organization.

What a find. My trusty Schnoodle Rex is 12 and has been groomed by many people and all over the country, but Maggie's Farm is the A # 1 place. First, as the "natural" in the title implies, she uses organic things on my dog rather than chemicals. She cuts him perfectly and puts season appropriate bandannas on him, and at Christmas last year she made a little wooden bone Christmas ornament with his name on it, which made me giddy. One time I had an appointment but didn't have a car that day and she actually gave my dog a ride - which was extra special wonderful and nice (although we DID live on the same street, not trying to trick anyone into thinking she has Doggie Limo service.) Bottom line, I feel safe leaving my dog with her and when I come back, he's licking her face and isn't skittish or fearful. Face licking is the stamp of approval as all dog owners know.

Good: Available to work out a schedule on short notice. Met with us prior to trip to get a feel for Sally (our dog). Sent us photos of Sally during the trip.. Improvements: None come to mind.. Other: I had to leave town for a week for a family emergency, and scrambled to find someone to care for my dog, Sally.
Fortunately, they were able to fit us into their schedule with no problem for twice a day visits. They seem very professional because they asked for a lot of details...everything from medical history to types of toys and who to contact incase I got amnesia and Sally would need more long term care.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hunter and his little team..

If my dog could talk, he'd say "I like Dr. Christy Berg." If my cat could talk, well, that would be tougher because he is dead, but he lived a good long 22 years and would testify to Dr. Christy Berg's skills as well. This woman loves animals and it shows in the way she cares for my pets. When my dog had itchy skin, instead of selling me some expensive chemical concoction, she told me to put a little Aloe juice on his food every day, and he stopped itching. When my cat had ear mites, she gave me some little bottle of oil to rub in his ears and Q-tip instructions, and the mites were gone. When my dog needed groomed, she pointed me to the wonderful Maggie's Farm Natural Pet Grooming which was another great find. I live 25 miles away now, and if my dog gets sick, I'd drive past 50 other vets on the way to go to Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital.

I had to take my great dane to College Animal Hospital when he broke a rib. They did an awsome job in acessing my dogs situation and providing the care he needed. The nurses were top knotch and cared for my dog with much love. Prices were pretty decent, but you get what you pay for.

I fell in love with this kennel for the special features for the dogs and other animals.
Each dog gets is own Plexiglas area, with a pet couch, a TV with animal planet, a radio playing with classical music and treats. There also is a for the owners. The very fact that there is a web cam in your dog's space just makes me a whole lot less worried when I have to leave her.
Although the kennel averages $36/night plus more for walks, playtime, etc. I feel that it is worth it for the dogs and peace of mind for the owners.
Great concept!

I always take my dog here whenever we go out of town. The board and care is wonderful and they really do care about my dog. When she is there, they give her a check up, groom, play and bathe her. They are very helpful whenever you have questions about your pets, and can recommend shampoos, etc. for your dog depending on its needs, coat, etc. My dog is always excited when we take her, and is sad to leave....but realizes we are back then gets excited agin....
Anyways, this is the perfect place to put your pets if you are going to be gone and cannot find a reliable dog center. There is no abuse and they are very open.
