i like petsmart. they are pretty clean and nicely organized. it's easy to find things in the store, but if you need help the employees are very helpful and friendly. good place to go for pet stuff. i love going there to look at the small animals and play with the birds. it is a fun place to spend a little time at, even if you don't plan on buying anything. i would recmmend petsmart. :-)

Adopt one that needs a new home. When walking into this spacious facility, I was surprised at how pleasant it seemed. The animals seemed well taken care of and well cared for. The facility also didn't smell as badly as most animal rescue facilities I've been to. The volunteers request that you spend a lot of time with the animal you will be adopting and there is an adoption application that must be approved before you can take your pet home. At peak times there is a significant wait for an adoption to discuss your adoption application. All pets are required to be neutered or spayed before coming home with you.

I know the owner of this store. I know much more about small animals and birds than she and I do not own a store!! In addition, she sells baby birds UNWEANED -- a HUGE no-no, if you know anything about birds!
(In fact, she sold an unweaned bird to a mutual friend who had no prior experience with baby birds. She showed her how to handfeed and gave her the feeding formula and one feeding syringe. The formula was old or bad (rancid). She didn't tell the girl how to properly clean and disinfect the syringe between feedings, to use a fresh batch of formula for each feeding and to be sure to only feed it if the formula was between a certain temperature range, measured with a thermometer!! Tragically, the baby died of an infection before the girl really knew it was ill!
Also, the store itself is sparse. It contains few supplies. There are a few supplies for a lot of different areas - dogs, cats, fish, small animals, birds.
I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this store to anyone. If you are in a pinch for guinea pig bedding or something, maybe, but otherwise go elsewhere. There are plenty of large and small stores that are much more knowledgeable and have a better supply of equipment for sale.

Never again will I board my dogs at Rob Carey Pet Resort. They have over extended themselves and DO NOT give the necessary care to the dogs. Ample bedding not allowed, the fleece throw was a joke, especially for a great dane!!! Both our dogs lost weight, although they are so concerned about the amount that they should be fed but don't monitor this. The dane had bleeding sores on his elbows from laying on concrete which had to be treated. I am taking both dogs to the vet today as they have been sick since taking them out of the kennel. With all the rain, they obviously left them in the outside part of the kennel where they got wet and were cold. Dane coughing up mucous since the day he came home and the boxer has a terrible runny nose!!! So to top it off after paying $26.00 per day per dog in one kennel I am having to spend again on a vet visit to get them well! They were both traumatized during their stay and still after one week not back to normal..The only nice thing i can say is that they bathed them well and cut their nails...
Do it right or don't do it at all Rob Carey Pet Resort.

Bring those pets here if you need to have fleas removed or you just want them to look thier best! I worked as a groomer for years so I know a good pet salon when I see one. I have friends that use this salon and thier pet actualy get happy and excited when they see that they are getting ready to have a make-over. All they have to see is the building and they start jumping for joy!

My issue with this organization is that the people involved in the front office in placing the animals are too demanding.
I have adopted animals in the past from them and provided them good long lives and good loving homes.
The last three years I've tried to adopt 2x's being turned down due to guidelines that are too stringent.
It's as if they want to keep their animals to provide their own non-profit jobs and incomes.
Although they are a no-kill shelter, this is a farce.
By keeping the animals longer than needed, they are not allowing slots to open for the many good animals that people want to place and have someone adopt.
I no longer find I can send my charitable funds to this organization due to their policies.
