Great Food, Great atmosphere. Portions are great!
Last weekend my husband and I experienced our first dinner at Bangkok Thai Talay.
The food was amazing! cool painting on the wall all and all very good eats.
My only problem was with the service. The owner dose not leave you alone to enjoy your meal, I understand the greeting of customers but come on give me a break! He stood at our table for about 10 minutes chatting about god knows what. We would have had a greater experience if were we left alone to eat.
My advice, great customers only no chit-chat.

Got there about 8 o'clock Friday night, It took a while to get seated and to get a beverage, But I (unlike some others who have posted before me) have worked in the Restaurant business and know this can happen sometimes! Be patient, its worth the wait!
Ordered the Fried Springroll for app. They were good, and I loved the homemade Garlic Chili Sauce!
Next we got our Yum Nua (warm Thai Beef Salad) The portion was perfect as well as the flavor! I asked for Prik Nam Pla (fresh Thai Chili's with fish sauce and fresh lime juice) they were prepared for this, as it came out right away.
Our dinner's were:
For my partner Panang Curry with beef, Like I said' nice portion and the flavors were spot on.
For me, The Basil Seafood Stir Fry, I asked for hot and I got it! Perfectly seasoned and the shrimp were NOT overcooked!!
We were intending to have dessert as well, but ran out of room!! Oh well perhaps next time, and there WILL be a next time for sure!!!
Pros: Great food, Great Staff, Excellent Parking.
Cons: Service a little off, but it was busy!

The Bangkok Thai is the place I consistently choose for its food. Their curries are balanced and rich which why I come back regardless of some nights being too busy for the staff to handle. Also I like that they really cater to us Vegans with good tofu dishes try the Pad Tofu or Chu Chee curry if you like it a bit spicy. My wife also loves the seafood, especially the Sea Bass served with as the house recommends. FYI, Monday nights there is a discount on Vegi dishes just make sure to tell the servers as they won't always take it off without asking.
Pros: Best Thai food in Utah, good vegan choice.
Cons: a bit slow at times

I lived in Salt Lake City for over 20 years and have been to a majority of the Thai restaurants. I first started going to Bangkok Thai when they were located in Foothill Villiage. I was hooked! I was thrilled when they moved within 10 minutes of my house oh Highland Dr. The new location is great! The owner did a fantastic job decorating and the restaurant is very clean! And the food...well, it's as good as ever. When I lived in SLC, my girlfriend and I would eat there at least once per week. My favorite is the pad thai and Kaffir lime curry (panang). Her favorite is the Massaman curry.
We moved to Las Vegas a little over a year ago and have been searching diligently for a Thai restaurant that is as good as 'Bangkok' (as we call it). We have tried at least ten Thai restaurants with no luck. The best we have found in Las Vegas is Lotus of Siam which was named by Gourmet Magazine as the "single best Thai restaurant in North America". Even with all the hype, it still falls short of Bangkok Thai Talay!!
Whenever we visit family in Salt Lake now, we make sure to visit Bangkok Thai.
Pros: Absolutely Amazing Food!!!
Cons: I live 400 miles away

This place was bad from the moment my husband and I walked in the door. They seated us then no one came to our table to give us water or greet us for 15 minutes. When they finally did they asked us for our order and drinks at the same time which was fine since we had plenty of time to look at the menu. We ordered two appetizers and our dinners and drinks. The server brought out our appetizers and my dinner but not my husbands dinner. About 10 minutes later she brought my husbands dinner out. The food was nothing special and my food was very salty (I love salty food but this was too much for me to handle). Our drinks were never refilled the whole time we were there and the waitress didn't even really check on us the whole time. When she finally did come to bring us our check she said, "I hope the wait wasn't too long for you." Then to top it off the server wrote on our check, "cash is appreciated". I'm sorry if that is your preferred method of payment but don't tell me what is best for you, I will pay however I want to.
I would highly recommend eating somewhere else. Bad food, bad service and overpriced for what you get.
Pros: Good fried spring rolls
Cons: service, food

I'm truly torn about Bangkok Thai Talay. My husband & I went there Friday night for dinner & had an interesting experience. First of all, when we walked in, there was no one to greet us. We waited for several minutes for one of the waitresses to finally come & put us at a table, which she seemed extremely put out to have to do. It took another 10-15 minutes for our waiter to even acknowledge us, at which point he said he would have to drop off the other tables' food & would be right with us. Several more minutes passed while we watched our waiter running around like a chicken with his head cut off. He finally came to take our order & informed us that their computer system was down, as was their air conditioner. He seemed rushed, irritated, was not entirely polite & did not check on us once we had our food. At one point, the owner started yelling at one of the waitresses, all within earshot of the entire restaurant. Very unprofessional. That being said...the FOOD was amazing! I had the basil seafood saute, which was packed full of seafood & a delicious sauce; husband had the waterfall steak, which he said was cooked to perfection with a wonderful peppercorn sauce. We also ordered two appetizers, which were fantastic. I want to return to Bangkok Thai for the food, but will remain wary of the service.
Pros: The Food!
Cons: Terrible Service

I highly recommend checking out Bangkok Thai Talay. The restaurant is top notch and has an excellent atmosphere, and of course, great food. I think there is at least one dish on the menu that everyone would like, so it's easy to go there with friends because even if they're not into the spicy dishes, there are plenty of non-spicy dishes too. Also, my sister is vegan so it can be really hard to find a decent place for her to eat. Bangkok Thai Talay has a "Meatless Monday" deal for those who don't eat meat and lists all dishes that can be prepared vegan.
Although I am not vegan or vegetarian now, (I was vegan and vegetarian for a long time!), It's nice to have a place that respects that lifestyle because it can be really hard to find a decent meal for a vegan!
I recommend the shrimp tempura and the green curry. For vegans, the panang curry..
Pros: The atmosphere and the food
Cons: When it's busy, the service can be slow

I was a huge fan of this restaurant when they were on foothill and I am very glad to see them back! Not only is the food still way above par ( and absolutely untouchable compared to anything else in this state) but they have a much larger space and you do not have to park miles away like you had to at the foothill location. I went on a busy Friday night and although it took a little while for the food to come out (which was expected due to the fact that we decided to dine at probably the busiest time of the week) it was a great time. Bottle of wine, good friends, great food, even the waiter was joking around with us and jumped right in helping me tease my older ,and sometimes very strange, brother from out of town!! My table was in agreement that we all wanted to go back soon, and the owner even gave us a coupon to use for our next visit on the way out the door. I would give them ten stars but the scale only goes up to 5. Absolute must try's Green Curry with shrimp, and the Duck in Chu Chee Curry! WOW!
Pros: great food, fun service
Cons: get there early or later to avoid a wait
