Hawthorne?s Haunting Classic Comes Alive
(Derry, NH) ? The Music and Drama Company will bring to life Nathaniel Hawthorne?s classic novel, The House of the Seven Gables, which tells of mysterious deaths, hidden documents, ghosts of those long dead and lovers from opposite sides of a centuries-old curse surround a secret holding the key to a family's salvation.
David Preece?s adaptation of The House of the Seven Gables remains true to Hawthorne's novel of haunting tragedy and romance. In this dark, Gothic love story, Hawthorne expresses the belief that new hope and promise can supersede the grim despair of the past.
D. Seth Abbott will direct this haunting play for the award winning Music and Drama Company, now celebrating their 25th Season. Playwright David Preece, who is based in New Hampshire, has seen his plays performed throughout the country. In 2007, his play about Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, Tender, won the New Hampshire Theatre Award for Outstanding New Play by a Professional Theatre and was nominated for Best Play by the LA Critics and his play, Charles Dickens? Ghost Stories won seven 2008 New Hampshire Theatre Awards, including Best Play. The award-winning set designer Jim Webber will make the famous house come alive on stage.
The play will have its New England premiere on October 23, 24, and 25 2008 at 8:00 PM at Adams Memorial Opera House, 29 West Broadway in Derry, New Hampshire. Tickets are available by calling 432-5578 Ext. 3 or before each performance.
The House of the Seven Gables is the perfect entertainment for the Halloween season!

Andrew Michaels Spa & Salon was very disappointing. My 1 hour massage started over 30 minutes late- with no apologies or explanation. I requested a female, yet got a male staff, which I was a little uncomfortable with. There was no water left or tea to choose from in the waiting room- and no one around to ask if they would get me some...overall a bad experience.

Salem Willows has actually transformed over the years to a beautiful, clean, family spot. When my husband and I visited the last couple of times, we expected it to be full of louds teens hanging around. Instead, there are mostly families, couples, as well as young people. There was no rowdiness. The park area was very clean. The eating establishments were all open and doing great business. And of course there are the couple of game places too. They have installed some new gardens. I was impressed, as the place was on the decline years ago.

Went here for a first date recently. Staff was amazingly helpful, friendly and professional. Offered me the pick of spots for the date, including the private table in "the vault". Fairly good spot for a romantic date. Crowd was light early, but decent sized later on (11:00+) and a good age mix. We ended up not having a dinner at all, but a couple glasses of wine and relaxed on the sofas behind the hostess stand. Live music was pretty good, but wasn't too loud to make conversation difficult.
Overall, the atmosphere was great, staff was incredible and wine was good at reasonable price.
I will definately be returning to actually try the food.
Will suggest to friends.
Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Live Music

This is the place when visiting the Salem area and witch trial memorabilia. A must do on the Halloween list. Their midnight witch's ball is to DIE for.

Out of all of the many museums The Salem wax museum is probably my favorite. It is really neat! If you have kids they will really have fun looking at the wax figures and hearing all of the spooky, yet important facts on the tragic witch trials that occurred. If you happen to be visiting the city around the time of Halloween, or Samhain, be prepared. It will be nearly impossible to get in to these museums. The line went on, very long outside! It is a shame, because it really makes a fun learning experience. If possible, stop in and tour another season. You will have a much easier time getting inside!

I have gone here a couple of times to get kittens. The service is top notch, and the staff is very friendly. When getting an animal here the animal always come first. They make sure that the animal is going to be well cared for and have plenty of space to play. They take very good care of all the animals here. There is always a large selection of pets to choose from, and if you don't see what you were looking for they will try to find it for you.

My husband and I really love this place for a great meal. The first time we went, we brought our son, and though they did their best to accomodate us, it was clear that this is really a date night kind of place.
When we ventured back without our son, we really had a great time. Both the food and the service were fantastic. We were there to have a romantic dinner and when our waitress noticed that a large (loud) party was going to be seated next to us, she asked us (before the other party was seated) if we would rather move to a quieter spot. She did a great job anticip[ating our wants and needs throughout the dinner.
The food? The food was incredible. From appetizers, to salads, to entrees to dessert... we were not let down once. I highly recommend Grapevine.
Pros: Lick your plate good food, good wine list
Cons: pricey (but worth it), not really kid friendly

The vets here are very knowledgeable. I was able to get in right away, they diagnosed my very ill cat with diabetes. She spent a few days in the hospital, and I'm happy to say she is doing well. They saved her life! Thank you New England Veterinary Clinic!
Pros: convenient hours, ample parking
Cons: slight wait to see doctor
