I have been taking my animals to this place since I was about 14 years old. They are very nice with reasonable rates. They truly seem to care about your animal. They take cats and dogs to the best of my knowledge. Animals can have baths before they leave and of course you can take your special toys in for them as well.

Siimply Flowers in Salem does beautiful floral arrangements. The flowers are the freshest, and the arrangements last a long time. There's also a nice selection of home decor and gift items. I like the homey atmosphere. Walk in and you're likely to find the owner cozied up on the loveseat working on a wreath or some other decorative creation. This small, personal shop is a breath of fresh air.

Salem Prime Cuts offers a good variety of beef plus chicken, fresh turkeys at holiday time, their own delicious smoked sausage and bacon, and miscellaneous other items such as fresh potato and macaroni salads, a very good price on eggs, a few grocery items, some fresh produce, good-quality ice cream by the quart or half gallon, frozen gourmet pies, etc. We really enjoy their grinders, too. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Critters and More in Salem, Connecticut, is a smallish store with good service and helpful staff. They carry a good variety of pet supplies, including aquariums and fish. Although we haven't needed to shop in a pet store very often, we've found Critters and More to be convenient for those times we need a specialty item or just don't feel like driving.

I just discovered JS Toy and Hobby in Salem, Connecticut. The owner is very helpful and friendly, and they carry a good selection of toys of all kinds, including Gotz dolls, Legos and other Lego-type kits, jigsaw puzzles, Barbie dolls, radio controlled vehicles and much more. I was delighted to find them, especially since we have a 10-year-old nephew to shop for soon. Their prices seem reasonable for a small local shop. We'll be back there to buy our nephew's birthday present within the next week.
