The Wuollet Bakery is a wonderful place. They have three locations that I know of. You can find their wonderful bakery goods in Saint Paul, on Grand Avenue, next to the whimsical Bibelot, in Minneapolis, in Uptown, and in White Bear Lake next to Good Things.
Nearly I enter Wuollet's I order a cupcake and Coke. First of all, the Coke is bottled, and Coke is best in a bottle, you'll have to trust me on that. Second of all, the cupcake, the great cupcake. Each cupcake is topped with a heaping amount of their wonderful frosting. You'll have to try it. Although I enjoy chocolate, I have found that the white cupcakes are best. I'm not entirely sure why, but they are. It seems that their white cake is more moist than their chocolate, and slightly more fluffy. The chocolate cake, from my limited experience (I'd guess 20-25 cupcake-coke visits) is often dryer and dense. Additionally, I have ordered a cake in the past, which was good, but for some reason, the cupcakes are better. Lastly, I would like to mention I have purchased a small amount of Christmas cookies there, in a weak moment a couple of years ago, and they are equally delightful as their cupcakes.
If you would like to enjoy Wuollet's in all it's glory, here is how it should be:
Plan a girls' day.
Pull out the jeans that fit just right, your tall boots that make you feel stylish, your pea coat or knee length long coat and a cute hat. Enjoy what Grand Avenue has to offer: fun shops, great eats, nice people. Stop in and purchase a white cupcake, lavishly topped with white frosting, drizzled with chocolate with a Coke and yes, you would like it opened. Sit down over at the high tables, near the window and enjoy the warm atmosphere. If enjoying this outing during the Christmas season, beginning singing...city sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style....
:) enjoy!

Joseph's Grill offers the best breakfast with a comfortable and casual atmosphere. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious. The wait staff is enjoyable, knowledgeable and very friendly. You can bring the kids and not have to worry about who they are bothering at the table next to you. I personally recommend the fajita omelet. You won't be disappointed and your meal won't hurt your checkbook. They also offer lunch and dinner and a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. Another plus is the large spacious parking lot.

My Husband and I recently visited O'malley's Pub. We were pleasantly surprised by the VERY friendly staff and The food was absolutely amazing!! I LOVE a good burger, and that can be very difficult to find. I have been there twice and both times I could not stop raving about how good my burger was!! It was Big, juicy(but not bloody!) and the bun makes the already great burger even better!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it again!! My husband ordered a Reuben sandwich and he also thought that his sandwich had to be the best he has ever eaten. This little pub, which has only been open since St Pat's Day, Is a MUST visit if you are in the Woodbury area. We told the waitress it was our 20th anniversary and the bartender gave us a free drink. It also has a fireplace in the center of the pub surrounded by big comfy leather couches and chairs. What could be any better than that?!
Great Food and Great atmosphere!! ENJOY!!

This is a really fantastic restaurant, whether you like German food or not. There are plenty of traditional German items on the menu, including a daily special, and all are terrific. There are also some items, such as a roasted chicken and fries, for those not looking for German fare. They've got a great bar and a good selection of German wines and beers. The desserts are fantastic if you leave room for them. The service has always been very accommodating, but on a busy night things can get pretty slow. In my experience they have always made up for it in hospitality. On a weekend expect to wait to be seated.

This is a small restaurant located in St. Paul. They serve authentic Vietnamese food that tastes delicious and is a cheap price. The pho and vietnamese sandwiches are the best here. You can order either take out or eat in. The place is clean and the wait staff are fast and friendly. Even though the menu is small, everything on there is really good. Give it a try.

This is a wonderful neighborhood bakery that has the best nut bread in town. The nut bread is the traditional round loaf with lots of nuts. They offer a wide range of doughnuts, sweet rolls, buns, breads, and cookies. The cakes are much better than your average cake. I also like their brownies.

More
This shop obviously specializes in Danish pastries. The best one is the apple pie pastry. It is made on a sheet pan and is layers of pastry with tons of apples and cinnamon with a thick white frosting on top. They cut it in huge bars so you really get your money's worth. The donuts are always fresh, light, and melt in your mouth. The parking is on street so it is sometimes hard to find a place to park and it is on a very busy street. Once you become a regular customer and know what you like, you might want to call your order in ahead of time to be sure you get what you want.

This is more than just a coffee shop. While they do have excellent coffee drinks, I especially love them for their sandwiches. They bake their own bread--I love the honey wheat. The chicken salad sandwich is absolutely the best. With big cashews and bits of apricot in it, this salad just melts in your mouth and makes a great sandwich. While there, don't forget the baked goods.
