There are a number of cable companies in the Minneapolis area, but we in the western suburbs have Comcast. They have great employees and also great cutomer service. I think that their prices are comparable to other cable companies. They offer all that you want and need - and even more! I have had cable since I moved here almost eight years ago. I enjoy the fact that they have autopay, so I don't have to worry about not getting my bill paid in time. They apply it to my credit card the day that it is due. I know that you would enjoy Comcast Cable, if you are in the right area of town.

Lakeshore Players is a small theater located in White Bear Lake. They put on several wonderful productions each year in an intimate setting. The talent is amazing and the sets are really incredible. I love going to this theater because you get to sit very close to the stage and all the seats have a great view. They put on a variety of shows and always do one geared towards children around the holidays. It's a great place to take your kids, as it's close to home and not overly formal or stuffy. The prices are also very reasonable.
During the summer months they run an acting camp which culminates with a production at the end. It's a great way for kids to get involved in acting.

Formerly known as the Como Park Conservatory, the newly revamped Marjorie McNeely Conservatory does a wonderful job of preserving and displaying exotic plant life. The atmosphere is very elegant, yet warm (literally) and inviting. Throughout the North and Sunken Gardens and the Palm Dome, various collections of palms, orchids, ferns, bonsais and much more are on display. Flower shows are hosted every season. There is a visitor center, as well as a gift shop. The conservatory is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Admission is only $1 for adults ($0.50 for seniors and kids 6-12, free for kids 5 and under). This is a gorgeous facility and a place the whole family can enjoy.

With over twenty screens and the home of the gigantic ultrascreen, Marcus Oakdale Theatres is the place to see a movie. The ultrascreen is nearly as big as an Imax, with reclining chairs and stadium seating. Not only that, look out for special deals and daily matinees starting at four dollars (even for the ultrascreen)!

Guitar Boutique is filled with gorgeous, hand-crafted (custom) instruments and amps that any capable hands can try out and play on! The Boutique also has recording studios available for rent / use. Don't plan on coming here unless you have all day to jam and tinker!

This is one of the last record stores in the Twin Cities where you can buy turntables. And it has a has a large selection of vintage vinyl.The staff was helpful and they really knew their stuff. I picked up some old movie soundtracks and early Mancini. Also i found out that the owner was the Root of All Evil from Saturday night radio.

I swim and play tennis and White Bear Racquet and Swim has both of these. There are so many indoor courts, so you can play in the winter too, that are in great condition. There are lessons available with skilled instructors. The pools are heated in the winter and are always clean. I recommend this to the tennis players out there that like to stay in shape during the winter.
