I taught Preschool at Close to Home for over four years (I left because I wanted to go back to school full time to become an adult educator). CTH is, with out a doubt, the very best program that I have worked for. The teachers and staff are extremely dedicated to the children and families with whom they work. The emphasis on social and emotional development makes kids cognitively and socially confident; they transition well into both the public and private sectors of kindergarten. I would recommend this school to anyone who is interested in a quality education and loving support of their children.

Close To Home is often considered the best pre-school in the state. 1. ;The waiting list is extremely long - many women sign up just as soon as they are pregnant in order to get a shot at getting their infant in. 2. The teacher to student ratio is better than state minimum (better-than-state-minimum ratio is just about impossible to find). 3. Many of the teachers have been with Close To Home for over 10 years (the average pre-school teacher's tenure is 18 months...this statistic shows how happy the teachers are, and thus, how good they are!) 4. Close To Home attracts the best teachers by giving the teachers preparation time during their work week and insisting that they work a maximum of 40 hours. In-school paid prep time is unheard of in the industry, and most teachers have to use their evenings preparing for classes. Outstanding school!

Close to Home Child Development Center is a warm, inviting little center located on Grand Ave. There are plenty of staff members on hand. I have come here on a few occasions to observe children for class assignments. The teachers are all very friendly and the children seem happy. The center is licensed and NAEYC accredited.
