Cole's Salon in Apple Valley is like many other large salons. Many of its stylists are great (like Kelsey - my stylist) but some are horrible. I love getting my hair cut by Kelsey. She always listens and gives me a great even cut. But, the few times she's been out and I've been assigned to someone else were a nightmare. So, I'd suggest reading the reviews and asking only for a stylist with high marks. Pros: Great stylists at good prices Cons: Beware being put with someone you don't know

I recently moved to MN and didn't have a stylist. A girl I work with has the cutest cut and color so she referred me to Kim at the Apple Valley location. Kim listened to all the things I didn't like about my hair, then told me what she thought, gave suggestions then made sure I was comfortable with how we proceed. My look is updated, fresh and so flattering. I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair. I had an awesome experience and I'm so glad to find a new stylist! Pros: Great prices, beautiful salon

I went to Cole's Salon in Apple Valley today for the first time. I didn't know any of the hair stylists so they stuck me with some aweful lady with long blond hair. I can't remember her name so I'll just call her the B#$@$. Anyways, so the whole time I was there, which wasn't long by the way because she was trying to rush me out... she kept putting me down saying that what I thought my hair should look like was ugly and saying that I shouldn't wash my hair and only condition it once every other day. When I asked why she was rushing through my hair she said she had more important customers coming soon. So what did I get for all the money I spent? A bad haircut, a low self-esteem and a crappy experience. I hope not everyone there is that bad as she belongs at Great Clips, but maybe that is even too good for her. I will never be coming back. Pros: Pretty looking place, good desk service Cons: Horrible stylist with bad attitude and even worse customer service skills

I have gone to Cole's since I was 6, and my mom got sick of the bad haircuts that Great Clips gave me. Last year I started going to a different stylist named Kelsey ( I think that's how you spell it) and she is amazing. She is very friendly, and also listens to exactly what you want done, but may change a couple things to fit you better (not without your consent of course). You are getting this review from a teenager's point of view, but think about it.. I'm a teenager. I'm extremely fashion conscious. Pros: good stylists, good atmosphere Cons: The only thing I can think of is that I can't bike there.. but that's not the end of the world.

I have only been going to Cole's Salon in Apple Valley for about two years, a friend of mine recommended it and after the first visit I was hooked. I have experienced almost every service they have to offer. Cole's Salon gives the best pedicure hands down and the new spa is spectacular. As for my hair, I feel as though I am in a trendy uptown salon when getting it done and I rarely go out without someone giving me a compliment. The entire staff is friendly and I love the environment, they all make me feel great. Pros: Great front desk staff

I have been to Cole?s salon in the past and have had good haircuts and colors before, but when I recently decided to cut 10 inches off my hair I was thoroughly disappointed with Coles. I don't have a regular hairdresser so when I called to make my appointment I asked to be set up with someone knowledgeable who could help me cut my hair from long to short. I think they just set me up with whoever was available. The stylist took the liberty to cut layers up the back of my head that will take me months to grow out!! I specifically said no layers. I thought she was thinning my hair because they usually do that when I get haircuts, but she was actually chopping in horrendous, uneven layers. I'm more angry with the front desk staff for setting me up with someone who obviously needs more training and was not able to give me a decent cut when I specifically asked for someone who knows what they are doing and are experienced. When I got home that day I really realized the mess that was on my head. It was so uneven in the back I cried. I went to Ficocellos salon in Eagan the next day to get it fixed. The stylist there was shocked at the haircut I got at Coles! I know there are good stylists at Coles so I can't say not to go there, just get a referral from someone who has been there and can give you the name of a stylist who will listen to what you say and will work with you. If you can't get a referral, go to Ficocellos.

I recently found a great girl at Cole's that seemed to listen to what I wanted. I decided after having my son that I needed a change so I scheduled a consulation to cut off at least 10 inches of my hair, get a new hairstyle and also color and highlight my hair. The style ended up to be nowhere near what I asked for but it was still nice so I didn't complain but she was late that day so she didn't even style my hair or show me the back of it. For 135.00 dollar (which included a 10.00 upcharge for a hairstyle request) I didn't even get my hair styled just blown dry and out the door I went. I felt really bad about it because it was expensive for me and I don't think it's appropriate to short change anyone to make up for lost time.

I would agree with what others have posted, Coles is a very good salon. The quality of the hair services provided is at the level of Juut but less expensive. Chrisy, at the AV salon, is the best stylist I have ever gone to. She is smart, personable, knowledge, and actual seeks your input when choosing a style or color. I have get many compliments on my cut and color and I owe it all to her. I am a spa addict and this is the only place I go to get my hair services, plus they have Bumble and Bumble products, it doesn't get much better Pros: Stylist, Cost, Location Cons: Difficult to get apt., front desk
