I have been going to Michael Isaiah Salon for about 2 years. When I called for my first appointment I didn't know anything about the salon so I just took the earliest appointment I could get, which was with Melissa. I will remain loyal to her forever. She gets my hair and always amazes me with her knowledge of cutting edge cuts and color. Until I found this salon I was one of those people who immediately went home to wash my hair and re-do it to my liking. Now that I see Melissa, I hate having to wash my hair the day following my cut and mess up her creation. After a few cuts my family noticed a change in hair and asked what was different. After hearing me rave about Melissa, both my mom and aunt have been making the drive from central Illinois all the way to West County (2.5 hours) just to get their hair cut by such a fabulous stylist. I highly recommend this salon. I love Melissa, but I know you can't go wrong after sitting and seeing some amazing cuts and color done by th

A wonderful place for a family visit is Grant's Farm. It is located just outside of St. Louis in Affton, Missouri. It was a one time home of our 18th President, Ulysses S. Grant. In the early 1900s, it was purchased by the Busch family of Anheuser-Busch, Inc. fame. It was their home for many years prior to opening it to the public. It is now a 281 acre wildlife preserve.
Although Grant's Farm is not as highly publicized as some of the other places to visit in the St. Louis area, it is one of the best! It is a wonderful place to spend a morning or even the day. Entry into Grant's Farm proper is free, but you must pay to park.
This wonderful preserve is home to hundreds of exotic animals from around the world, including several varieties of deer, horse and cattle, including my children's favorite, the Oreo Cookie Cow (actually a Belted Galloway). Upon entering the property through a covered foot bridge, you wait in line at Grant's Station for the next tram to take you on a tour of the wildlife preserve. The longest time I have ever waited was during the Fourth of July weekend -- forty five minutes. This, however, is a rarity, as the wait for a tram is generally only ten minutes or less.
On the tram ride, one of the first sites you see is Grant's cabin, called Hardscrabble. It is the only existing home that was actually built by a president. Although he only lived there a short time while his "real" home was being built, it is still an exciting piece of history. There are tours periodically throughout the year through the cabin, but these are few. If you do happen to be lucky enough to go into the cabin, you won't be allowed on the second floor; it is closed due to age, and is not considered structurally sound. It is worth visiting when the cabin is open for tours though, just to gain insight into that piece of history.
After passing through a gate that separates Hardscrabble from the actual preserve, the tram ride continues. The length of the ride varies depending on the cooperation of the animals who call Grant's Farm home. You see, if an animal decides to block the roadway, which does happen, you are stuck. During one visit, the tram my family was on was "held hostage" by the bison for about fifteen minutes! It was quite interesting though as there were deer on one side of the tram and a baby calf on the other licking the tram. There is no guarantee that you will see animals on your ride though. Of the dozen or so times I have been there, there was only one time that I consider the tram ride a failure, because we saw no animals except for ducks and the fish in the pond. A personal recommendation is to go during cooler weather when the animals are more active or in the early morning if you go during the heat of the summer.
After the ride through the preserve, you are dropped off at one end of the Tier Garten near the petting area for the goats. You can purchase a bottle to feed the the babies. There are also a variety of animal shows in outdoor theaters throughout the day. (Signs are posted with the times.) There are several other animal exhibits to see, including bald eagles, giant tortoises, and elephants.
After a walk though the Tier Garten, my family is always ready for a soda in the Bauernhof. This is also the area to catch a tram back to Grant's Station. After our tram ride out, we like the visit the General Store. There are several souvenir shops located throughout, but this is the largest -- and our favorite.
Once used by the Busch family as a stable, it is now a show area for their carriage and tackle collection. There are a variety of horses stabled there as well. This is also the area to catch the tram back to Grant's Station. After our tram ride out, we like the visit the General Store. There are several souvenir shops located throughout, but this is the largest -- and our favorite.
A final stop at Grant's Farm should be the Clydesdale training and breeding are located at the north end of the parking lot. Known as Label Stable, you are almost always guaranteed wonderful Clydesdale views.

Ted Drewes rocks.
The fact is that I can't order an "All Shook Up," without singing "uh huh huh" and raising my lip to look like Elvis. (An All Shook Up is a banana and Reese's peanut butter cup concrete at Ted Drewes and it is by far my favorite), and for some reason that makes me really happy. I think Ted Drewes brings out the kid in all of us, and while, IMHO, there are better frozen treats to be had (shaved ice over ice cream in Kauai, Hawaii), you'd be hard pressed to find a better quick dessert experience in St. Louis.
I have wowed many a friend from out of town with the Ted Drewes phenomenon. As one poster correctly pointed out, the hype gets pretty big, but if you simply don't pump it up too big and instead let your guest discover the magic on his or her own it will never failed to please.

I have owned several pets through the years and the only animal hospital I will every use is Webster Groves. I live in O'Fallon, MO, but I will never consider leaving a hopsital that has done so very much for me. I've have always been treated with respect and have never had any negative experiences. I am shocked to read some of your reviews. Dr. Wilson was arrested on personal charges. The hospital has nothing to do with her private life and have announced she was immediately placed on leave. There are probably no legal grounds yet to terminate her employment until the end of this horrible experince. The exotic rooms, with separate waiting area, is upstairs so there is never a reason exotics should mix with dogs and cats. If a receptionists throws medication, I should think someone would complain and the receptionist would be disciplined accordingly. The management of the hospital will never know what happens if no one shares the experience. And besides, why charge the entire hospital

Located in Forest Park in the heart of St. Louis is a wonderful zoo, and the best part is the FREE admission. The Saint Louis Zoo has educated, entertained and earned a place in the hearts of St. Louisans for generations. With the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in 1904, there began a long and slow process to establish a zoological park. The St. Louis Zoological Society was formed in 1910. The City of St. Louis set aside 77 acres in Forest Park for a zoo and named a Zoological Board of Control in 1913. State legislation provided that "the zoo shall be forever free," which has kept the Zoo accessible to millions of visitors ever since. This is a large zoo, with beautiful fountains, sculptures and many animals. Make sure you wear your walking shoes! There are a few parts of the zoo that charge a minimal fee (the children's zoo, the train etc.), but you can have a great day here and never spend a penny. Food is available at various eateries within the zoo. http://www.stlzoo.org/

My son and I flew to St. Louis with a friend. We live in Orange County California and own an Italian restaurant. I am Sicilian and Greek and my husband is Italian. We entered a busy dining area with a very friendly staff. For appetizer we ordered the Toasted Ravioli: Best I've had, also the Shrimp Diavolo and the eggplant parm: all great. For dinner we all ordered the eggplant parm dinner because we didn't get enough from the appetizer. This dish could have fed the three of us. Dinner salad was awesome. My 14 year old son actually ordered another one. The coffee was good the Italian waitress was a delight. We had a lot of leftovers and no fridge in the hotel. We left them in the trunk and due to the fact it was snowing, it was frozen by morning and ready to reheat. I have to have another surgery in October and can't wait to eat at Cunetto's again! Hats off to St. Louis!!! The people are warm and wonderful.
Pros: Dinner Salad, Bread, Toasted Ravioli...
Cons: Tiramisu a little dry
