Though small and cramped and smelling a little funny, this place is pretty cool when it comes to getting cheap music or DVD’s. An eclectic mix of people frequent this store, which adds to it’s charm. Located right in the heart of “the loop” as the locals call it, Vintage Vinyl has a little bit of something for everyone and if you purchase used items, you can save a considerable amount of money. Also, live bands play sometimes, which is cool to check out as you’re bar hopping on a Friday night.

This store is a great resource for those that are looking for sheet music, for a performance or just to practice something. They have a great selection of sheet music for a variety of instruments, and they also have helpful staff that can tell you almost immediately if they have what you are looking for. The genres of music that they carry is also wide and varied. Overall, a great choice and probably one of a kind in Saint Louis, as I have not been able to find a place like it.

When looking for starter equipment for my 10 year old daughter to begin drumming, the staff at Fred Pierce were patient and helped steer us in the right direction.
We walked in to the store knowing absolutely nothing about what we would need or how much it would cost. The staff walked us through the basics and pointed us towards good equipment from practice pads to larger drumsticks that would be easier for a child to handle.
We could very easily been led to the most expensive equipment in the store, but they advised us to give the lower end products a try and if she stuck to it and liked it, what to get next.
After a couple of months, I went back looking for a drum stand and when I couldn't' find one I liked, they went downstairs in their studio and gave me a great deal on one that they used for their lessons.
I definitely recommend Fred Pierce for anyone and their drumming needs. They also give lessons out of their facility.

We hired TKO because they were a preferred vendor at our reception site, and we are glad we did! They were great to work with from the first phone call all the way up to our big day. I was a little hesitant because they don't let you meet the DJ before the wedding, but they assured me that they would match me with the right guy. Our DJ was perfect! We decided meeting the DJ wasn't as important as knowing we hired a good company that we could reach when we needed them. I was surprised at how many other DJ companies use their cell phones as business lines! Anyway, this place was professional from start to finish. They did assign the perfect guy for us. We chose a "moderate" DJ and he wasn't obnoxious like I've seen other DJs at friends' weddings. He didn't take requests (like we asked) and played the music that we wanted him to, even though a song or two didn't work like I had hoped (but they were my favorites so who cares, right!). The price was right, too. We got a discount because they were a preferred vendor, but I would hire them again at full price knowing that they would do a great job. I think that says a lot!

You are likely to find a music legend hanging around Music Folk, poking through the old guitars are strumming on a banjo, keep your eyes peeled! Music Folk is a legendary store that sells all manner of string instruments- specializing in guitars and banjos with dulcimers and violins in good stock too. The staff is expertly experienced and is more than willing to let you play with the instruments for a great while before buying. Prices are going to be very steep for many of the items they sell but this is industry standard- it is less likely you could find much less than for what Music Folk sells. Enjoy this cozy store in the heart of Webster!

This is a great place to take your young children. They have structured play, music, and art classes for young infants and children. It is a great place to go to meet other moms and also to let your child explore and play in an open, colorful area with different toys than they have at home. The cost of this program varies depending on what classes you sign up for and what area you live in. I highly recommend going to a free preview class though to check it out.

This is the best place to go if you are looking for an album by a local artist. They also carry all the well known artists, but are definitely not a bargain for those. The staff is knowledgeable and most can recommend local music to listen to based on which major artists suit your tastes. So head here for a local band you know, or to find something new.

I'm a book fiend... I admit it! So when I say that this Borders is fantastic, it should be taken as gospel. I usually always stop in when I'm in the area as they always have several rows of bargain books. When I've been there with a specific book in mind I've never had trouble finding it both because the layout is convenient and the staff will appear out of nowhere to help you. Their kids section is superb and the staff up there really know what they're doing. You can give them an age range and a topic and you'll have a stack of books to choose from in no time!

A friend of mine used this group for her wedding music, and for her cocktail hour at her reception. They sounded so wonderful and it was obvious that they are a group of very skilled musicians.
They played a variety of wedding music that my friend had selected. However, they are definitely willing to help you decide what songs would be most appropriate where during your ceremony. For the cocktail hour they just played a variety of music.
I definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for live musicians at your wedding or reception. It really does make the atmosphere so pleasant!
