One thing that I will always remember from my time at Wash U is the campus. I remember walking the quad and forgetting that I was in a metropolitan area like St. Louis. It is incredibly easy to do. The designers did an amazing job of combining the landscaping and the architecture. It feels like you are walking across a campus in the countryside of another time. They have also done a wonderful job of designing the newer buildings to resemble the older ones. Many people speak only about the education here, which is well documented. But, there is also an aesthetic beauty that should be publicized, as well. more

A big reputation that carries a lot of weight 1/16/2006

Finally, one that has little to do with travel. I actually attended here for my undergraduate degree, and let me tell you, it’s a really good school. Is it as good as its reputation? I don’t know, but I do know that the reputation carries a lot of weight when you leave, as far as professional opportunities. more

Best private university in St. Louis 8/27/2005

Wash U is known for it's reputation of being one of the best private universities in the country, and it's definitely number one in St. Louis. The Hilltop campus is beautiful. Even if you don't go to school here, if you live in the vicinity it's a great campus to take walks on. The track is public as well. The building architecture is gorgeous and the landscaping is beautiful. Parking is a huge issue though here. It's expensive and it's difficult to find parking most times of the day. As with many centrally located universities, this is probably the biggest negative. Overall though, great place to go to school or to work at. more
