I shopped at Best Buy and Circuit City for a new digital camera for my hisband and was very disapointed by the lack of knowledge and the time it took to get help. I was reluctant to go to Creve Coeur Camera because i'd heard the prices were too hogh. I was surprised to find that they guaranteed to match the price, (even though they had the same price as the others). More important, the sale guy spent over an hour helping me decide. My husband loves the camera, and we really loved the free classs...Kudos to the teacher (i think it was Paul). Somethimes the local guys really asre a better deal/.

I have read all of the other reviews, but I can tell you that most of the time, you can save money on the internet, but you might not get the same thing. We got a bad deal online, although we saved $75 on an Olymupus camera. The warranty was not any good. So I went to the Creve Coeur Camera on Olive, and they actually helped me get my camera repaired and sold me some "good" rechargable batteries that lasted morethan one hour. The women Tony was great!

I suspected this store would be more expensive than buying online, but we stopped in anyway to ask some questions and see some of the cameras up close. The woman who helped us (at the St. Peters location) was very unhelpful. She might have been knowledgeable, but didn't seem too keen to share any of that wisdom with us. As a matter of fact she just leaned on the counter staring at us the entire time. To be fair, we complained about her and got a very quick response from the owner, who apologized and offered to help us in any way possible. Unfortunately for him, we had already found the camera we wanted online for much cheaper than offered at CC Camera. I am sure the unhelpful employee was an exception, since others I've talked to seemed service-oriented. But their prices are always going to hurt them. Too bad as I would have liked to support a local business.

Ok, I wouldn't go here if you are looking for a good deal. If you are willing to shop around I would suggest that as they are expensive. We had a camera that needed repair and it would have cost a good deal more then if you were to ship it off yourself. They do have lots of cameras, so if you need some ideas try there, but buy elsewhere.

In addition, many times they will have to ship a broken camera off to the manufacturer, which costs you more money than just sending it off yourself. It's a nice place to look and get an idea of what you want, but when it comes to buying, shop around before you buy from here.
