I can't imagine how someone else has had a bad experience at Harry's. While a student at Flagler, Harry's would be my preference for dinner if my parents came and wanted to treat me. Their fillet mignon is better than at any chain steakhouse, and (I hear) the seafood is great. I've dined there on many occasions and the atmosphere is unbelievable, retaining many qualities of the old home it was implanted in. The ladies' restroom upstairs seems to have been a little girl's room, with its pink, patterned wall paper. The upstairs dining area with the bar was very cozy for the largest dinner party I attended with, during a family reunion. With parents and boyfriend, delighted that they were taking us there, we ate in the front parlor area, complete with chandeliers and fireplace. It's luxurious and they know their food needs to match the environment. I also enjoy that it's well-lighted enough to see who it is you're eating with. It's like being invited to a rich relative's house for a warm, inviting party with great food.

This is a great restaurant for a quick bite and a custom brew or a nice sit down dinner. It is great looking out on the bay and watching the horse drawn carriages going down the street. I am a local and it is always fun to take out of town guest here for great ambiance and yummy food.

I love harrys.
I've been going to this particular Harry's since I was very young and it has continued to be a family favorite.
Some of the food I've tried in the past has been quite unimpressive but their are some jems on this menu that i ADORE.
The Eggplant and Crab meat napolean with hollandaise sauce is beyond incredible. (best dish on the menue)
The Courtyard is beautiful, inside is high-paced, and the upstairs is very dainty and sweet.
I recommend this place to anyone visiting St. Augustine, Exspecially ones with big parties.
Pros: foooood!!!! staff, atomosphere
Cons: I usually have to wait at least 30 mins to get a table.

The Casa Monica is the most beautiful hotel! I have never eaten at their restaurant, but I have heard good things about it. The Casa Monica was even on the Travel Channel's great hotels show! My fiance and I considered having our wedding reception here, and we live in Orlando, that is how beautiful it is. It is well known for having beautiful weddings, and it is right in the heart of historic St. Augustine, and is right near St. George Street, so you can stay at a beautiful hotel and be right by the best shops in town! Highly recommend Casa Monica Hotel.

Borrillo's pizza is great! My husband and I try to visit once a week if we can (though lately money has been a bit too tight). They have great prices and a wonderful lunch special. Two can split the lunch special (which is two slices and a drink) and there's plenty of food. Order one slice - it will fill your plate!!
Have tried several things on their menu, the white pie is very tasty, if all else fails the pepperoni is great too. We love to get the antipasto if we can!
Highly recommend Borrillo's to anyone in town. Hands down, the best pizza in Saint Augustine. :)
Pros: It's all good!
Cons: Not a thing :)

While spending lots of money at the outlet mall yesterday, my boyfriend, son, and friend of ours decided to venture into the Historic District of St. Augustine to have some lunch. We were not sure where to dine, so called a friend who is familiar with the area. He recommended Columbia's on St. George St. We were greeted by a rather confusing hostess (she didn't greet us and then said she was waiting on someone to take us to the table when we said we wanted a table for three). We were seated in the second floor dining room. After grabbing a highchair and buckling my son in, I realized I infact had NOT buckled him in, because the buckle was broken. A closer inspection of the pile of high chairs in the corner revealed that 9 out of 10 were also missing pieces in some way. Thank goodness for that one out of ten we found, a little tight, but workable. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Something Something (Not good at my recall of Spanish words). It came topped with a slice of lime, side of plaintains, yellow rice with green peas, and Mojo sauce. It was heavenly! The fish was cooked to perfection and very citrusy. The plantains were wonderful and the rice had a fabulous flavor. My boyfriend ordered a Cuban sandwich and black bean and rice soup, both of which were excellent. Overall our meal was wonderful enough to forget about the highchair and hostess hassle and have a great meal.

We decide to elope to St. Augustine and found a fantastic seasonal rate for our stay through the Casa Monica website. The building itself is beautiful inside and out, the staff are courteous and friendly at every opportunity, and the room was well equipped. When stayed in a spacious "premier" room with a four-poster bed, sofa, desk, tv, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. The large bathroom had a walk-in shower, no bath which wasn't noted during the reservation process but that's not an issue for us. Our room was at the far end of the building from the lobby and we had a view over King street towards the square next to the Bridge of Lions. The bed was comfortable, with loads of pillows to choose from. The only drawback to the room is the A/C system - it is really loud * distrubed us both during the night. We didn't have much interaction with staff besides check-in and check-out, there was nothing missing from our room and we had no need to call the front desk or housekeeping during our stay. Perfect! By the way, the $20 valet parking is worth it. The alternative is trying to find curb-side metered parking which was not easy on a weekday, plus you have to feed the meter $3 every two hours. I hgihly recommend the Casa Monica to anyone looking for a hotel in St. Augustine.
Pros: Beautiful room & building, well-equipped, nice location
Cons: Noisy air conditioning in our room

I was referred to Gypsy Cab Company for dinner by an aunt of mine who had lived in Orange Park for just a few months some years ago. I thought if she'd been a patron of this restaurant, a good distance from Orange Park, it must be wonderful. I went once with my grandparents, who were thankfully handling the bill as the dinners can be a bit pricey, and had a chicken dish that was quite good but it is the sort of restaurant that has you regretting what you ordered because everything else suddenly looks so good. This is probably due to their interesting "urban cuisine" theme, which considers that any cuisine in a big city will draw originally from the cuisine of many nations. My grandfather loved his lamb, and reiterated it many times. The interior is very stylish and elegant.
I went just Saturday for lunch for the first time with my boyfriend's parents, and was surprised at the reasonable prices (considering that they serve a few of the same dishes later on for dinner, such as Gypsy Chicken). I had the baked ziti, which was great. It was served next door at the grill that is usually the comedy club, but it was comfortably converted into a casual restaurant, before they line up all the tables for the comedy at night, which is also marvelous, but slightly over-priced. I would regularly attend if it were just a bit cheaper, as I am living on a student's budget. I thought for sure this would already be topping the list under Saint Augustine's best restaurants, as I have been referred by people who live in Jacksonville, including my boyfriend's parents. If it is worth the trip for them, it speaks towards its quality. Let's not overlook this gem, just minutes from downtown.

This is a wonderful restaurant with a friendly environment. You can dine inside, on the porch, or in the tiki huts that lay over the water. The tables are huge so even if you have a party of 8-10 you can still dine on the water comfortably. A little pricey, but highly worth it. They even have a gift shop and mini motel if you are interested! What more could you ask for?
Pros: close parking, waterfront dining, gift shop
Cons: , expensive
