I've never had that kind of experience. There is not just a restaurant. We could have wonderful entertainment, nice food and... and... it was like a party!!
Very nice & clean, comfortable place. Friendly chefs and staffs made us relax and enjoy the time.
Maybe you'll be able to remember old TV show called "The Galloping Gourmet".

When you walk in the circa 50's, neon light accented, multi-colored boothed boutique you know you are in a place like no other. You smell buttter, roasted pecan, pineapple, berries and chocolate wafting dubiously en areo, daring you to forget... to dis-inhibit and Go for it. The cakes are stacked high and decorated to dismantle any remaining inhibitions that your nose may have foregone. From chocolate cake, to brownies, icecream, pies tarts, tortes, custards and cookies-there is a sweet to touch that special need in your mouth. I decided on a piece of the delectable carrot cake and a white chocolate brownie - was not dissappointed. Mothers out there (fathers and kids too) be warned... your face is not safe when I visit Ricks DD!!! Pippette eat your heart out...
Pros: close to all the downtown restaurants, night life, ambience, big windows

If you like ice cream, you'll love Gunther's. Forever I've been stuck on Cold Stone Ice Cream, but it's expensive and it's not really all that fresh (sure they mix in the ingredients while you wait, but I don't think/feel that the actual ice cream is too fresh). So I was happy to find Gunther's.
This place has been here forever, there are pictures on the wall of what the place looked like in the 1950s (looks pretty much like it does today), and although the prices aren't cheap, they are reasonable for the quality of ice cream you get. The service is friendly and the servings are huge--there's really not much to dislike. I think they also have some food goods as well (sandwiches, etc), but I've never had them.

Three words: Chili Onion Rings. I slightly go into comatose just thinking about it. Their milk shakes are good and thick, and are a total must order. Open late too!

Longtime fan of P.F. Changs, no matter what state, what location your visiting the food is consistant and tasty. Full flavored without MSG or greasy entress. Lunch and dinner will run you considerably more than your average chinese restaurant but its well worth it. The service is fine, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the food is served quick and tasty. Great job for a chain restaurant. Suggestion, the more people you bring with you the more food you get to enjoy. I reccomend at least groups of 4 or 6, as you will probibly order 1 dish per person and share it. ENJOY!
Pros: Food
Cons: Parking

I wish I knew this restaurant years ago. The neighborhood is improving but who cares the food is wonderful. I still dream of the lamb and braised beef raviolis...did I mention the wine?? Still not an expert on wine but I know what I like and the wine director recommended a reasonable but delicious wine to go with my meal. I want to try the tapas night next...
Pros: excellent food, service, free parking
Cons: not downtown

Kaveri is my favorite Indian food restaurant in Sacramento because of the huge buffet. I have never seen a bigger buffet at an Indian food restaurant. I have been there many times an still see new foods there. They offer meat dishes but have plenty of vegetarian food also. Their sauces are creamy and rich. They also specialize in south Indian food, particularly masala dosas, which are delicious and less expensive than other items on their menu. Their location in a small strip mall is fine, and they have their own Indian grocery store next door. Dining is casual, and the service is acceptable. The decor is noting special--the whole appeal of this place is the food.

Most Indian quisine tends to be of the Northern Indian kind here in the USA, since most Indians immigrants in this area are from the Northern part of India. So to find a Southern Indian resturant and that too, a good quality one, is rather unique. If you are one of those folks who loves the Tandoori and Chicken curry style food, you too won't be disappointed. However if you want some good Southern Indian food (most of it is Vegetarian and I'm not a vegetarian) try the Dosa, Idli and the rasam, you can't go wrong with any three of them.
Pros: Best Dosas this side of Southern India
