...and they stepped it up. When I went for my first visit, I left wanting to cry. It was a Thursday afternoon, and there was nobody in the shop, but I waited for 45 MINUTES PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME before my consultant finally came to help me. I had to go to the front desk twice durin that time to inquire if someone was ready for me, and BOTH times they said "Oh, you haven't been helped?" Seriously?! Of course I haven't been helped! If I were being helped I would be upstairs in a big white dress!! So when I finally met with my consultant, who I shall not name as I hate to throw individuals under the bus but not entire companies, she took me upstairs and showed me to my room. She held out her hand and said "Pictures?" I said I didn't have any and she sighed, looking irritated. As she started to walk away to pull dresses I was trying to describe what I wanted, but she wasn't listening. She brought back a few dresses that were nice, but not what I had asked for. In her defense, she did pull about 10 dresses for me to try, but I was only allowed to spend about 30 seconds in each one before she said "Ok, ready for the next one?" I barely got a look, but none of them really caught my eye, so I guess that was fine. When we went through all those she asked which 3 I would like to add to my card, to which I said "Well, I didn't really like any of those, are there any different ones I can try?" She replied that she had brought all that fit my description and that were in my price range, and that I should just narrow it to 3. So I just chose three at random so I could get the hell outta there, never intending to return.
But then I did...On a Monday early afternoon. I got right in with my consultant, Mahin, and she took me right up. This time I had come with very a very specific style in mind, and wasn't going to stray from that. She asked me what I like, and I started to say as she looked me up and down. I stopped midsentence because I could tell she was going to say something. "V-neck with a mermaid skirt would be perfect for you." THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO ASK FOR!!! I had tried on that shape at another salon and it is perfect for my body. She nailed it! She proceed to take me to the dresses and asked me about each one as she pulled it, and was very respectful of my price range. Each dress she brought was beautiful on, but there were two in particular that were great, and the best one was the very first one that I tried on. She let me stand there and stare as long as I wanted, and he assistant took TONS of pictures from different angles for me. She even suggested I put on the first one again because it was my favorite. We have it narrowed down to 2, but we both love the first one I tried, and it just happens to be the least expensive of all that I tried on, $1000 UNDER my price range! I felt like Mahin was genuinely out to find me a beautiful dress that I could afford, and not just looking to find one at the top end of my budget. She understands how a dress should look, and takes into account your size and shape, not just the hottest trends. I am very happy that I gave HOF a second chance, and even happier that I found Mahin! I set up my second appointment with her to go with my bridesmaids, and I can't wait to show them the dresses we found.
I would say not to let the other reviews keep you from at least trying this place out. If you get a bad vibe, go with it. Your gut is usually right. But I gave them another shot and ended up finding two amazing dresses, and getting fantastic service. I guess the second time is the charm!
Pros: selection
Cons: service

I went there to look for my bridal gown, and the sales lady first greeted me in a very nice and sweet voice until she looked at me from top to bottom. Immediate she took me to a room full of dresses on the second floor, and told me to look through the dresses myself. I told her I was looking for a specific style, but she told me to look for it myself. Of course with so many dresses in the room, I didn't know where to start. I asked her if she had my size in stock and she she told me "there's one, but it's $1600, can you afford it"? I felt very insulted. Then she told me "I don't think there's any thing here for you". She then took me down to look at bridemaids dresses, and told me again to go through the dresses myself. Of course, at that point, I just walked out of the place. I would think that if you pay so much for a dress, you would receive some service. This lady did not provide any service, but was extremely rude to me. She judged me the minute she saw me and assumed I could not afford anything in the store. I would not go back there again.

Very warm atmosphere and friendly people. I did not know that they are working 24 hours. In fact this is the only salon in this neighborhood that provide 24 hours service. I was hesitant first time because of "questionable reputation of the salon's at night time...", but was gladly surprised with level of the service and absence of ANY indication of "inappropriate behaviors” from salon staff. I would definitely recommend this salon to the serious clients...
Pros: Warm environment & friendly professional staff.
Cons: East Sacramento parking...

I came to HOF because my sister bought her dress here. She was satisfied with the dress but warned me she was disgusted with their service. Normally, I am not too bothered by service, so I came to see thier selection.
They were the worst employees of any establishment i have ever been to in my life. I told them what kind of dresses I liked, and specifically what I did not want on them. They brought me nothing but what I didn't like! To add insult to injury, they told me what I was looking for "was probably out of my price range." That was it for me.
The one dress I told them I really wanted to try on, which I had the style number and everything, they claimed they sold out of... only for some assistant employee to bring me that dress when the other lady wasn't around!
it was blatant they were Russian and only cared about the one other bride who was there... a Russian girl!
I walked out refusing to ever step foot in there again. I only joined cityshearch to complain about this place when I saw it as a top place to shop! Save yourself time, money, and self respect and go somewhere else!

I advise people to go to The House of Fashion because i had very pleasant experiences there. First i would like to say that they are extremely friendly and helpful not only to me but to all the customers. My consultant was picking out the most beautiful wedding gowns for me and they suited my style very well. They were all so gorgeous, i couldn't decide which one to pick but the staff helped me out and arranged everything for me, the time of delivery (my dress even came earlier) i picked out shoes and a veil. They helped me so so much, they did everything they could just so i would be happy. We had tears of joy in our eyes when everything was done. House of Fashion is the best bridal salon that i have ever been to. I went to many different salons around California but i found my dress in the house of fashion and i had the best experience. It was so beautiful and relaxing, they did not rush you and gave their honest opinion about everything, which helped me a lot. If you want to be treated like a princess i strongly encourage you to go there! trust me, you will never regret that you chose this place.
and for those brides that had a bad experience..its just your bitchy attitude, Get over it!
Pros: Beautiful dresses, good prices, excellent service
Cons: n/a

I had the worst experience at the House of Fashion. The owner/manager/employees are rude and dishonest. They will tell you what you want to hear with no intention of backing up their promises and then will stick you with a non-refundable dress that you purchased under false pretenses. If I could do it over again, I would not step foot in this horrible establishment. If you purchase a dress from HOF, demand to take it with you because if you leave it there they will let other brides try on your dress that you have paid for in full. DO NOT BUY A SAMPLE from them. They will tell you the will "have it cleaned" and repaired, but they will do a poor job on alterations/repairs and refuse to clean it. I cannot say enough what a horrible business HOF is. Save yourself a lot of trouble and heartache and take your business elsewhere. I can't believe this place is still in business. They have been ripping off unsuspecting brides for the last 45 years.... don't let it continue!
Pros: Absolutely None
Cons: Horrible service and very dishonest company

Future Brides: DO NOT GO TO HOUSE OF FASHION. The house of Fashion is dirty, has rude employees, and is an all-around dishonest business. As a bride, this is far too important of a time in your life to be treated the way you will be treated at the House of Fashion. I am stuck 10 days before my wedding with a very expensive wedding gown with spots on it and the HOF refuses to have it professionally cleaned, replaced, or to let me return it. I have never been treated so horribly in my life. I purchased my gown and veil, nine bridesmaids dresses, a mother of the bride dress, and a mother of the groom dress from HOF and I still cannot get any decent service. The employees will let other brides try on your dress that you have already bought and paid for if you leave your dress at the shop to be altered. They will tell you exactly what you want to hear and have no intention of backing up their promises. If you do buy a dress from the house of fashion, which I do not recommend, be very skeptical and do not believe anything the salespeople tell you. DO NOT LET THE HOUSE OF FASHION TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANYMORE UNSUSPECTING BRIDES!!!! Buy your dress from Miosa, Bella Donna, or pretty much any other bridal store in town. I would have rather gone to David's Bridal in hindsight. House of Fashion does have a big selection, so go there, find your style, and order it from a different shop!

I am a first time bride. I am extremely positive and optimistic regarding every step of planning our wedding. I have met with many different businesses regarding all aspects of wedding planning, and I have never encountered such inconsiderate customer service. If you think about going to this place, be prepared to feel rushed, embarrassed, and disgusted! I tried to be very kind, as I was very excited to try on wedding dresses, however after trying on 3 dresses, I couldn't take it and left. I tried on dresses with my maid of honor, mother, and future mother-in-law, with me, and they too could not believe how awful the staff was.Very, very, very poor service! Do not go here!!!! Afterwards, I went to Bella Donna Bridal and they were absolutely wonderful!

I had to leave my review after reading the other two less than satisfactory reviews. I can definitely agree that this business is too busy for the first time bride. This will be my first wedding as a bride and I was given the run around in this two story large place of business. After repeatedly trying to find someone to assist me, they pawned me off on this very young lady who had no idea what it means to provide good customer service! Discouraged...I left the place feeling defeated!

I can't believe this place even has good reviews. They do have a lot of selection, but I think they are either too busy or dishonest in their pricing.. and depending on who you get, they are RUDE and snotty as hell. How do they know that I don't have money to buy one of their high end designer dresses? I was polished, was nice, and was dressed appropriately. I bought a wedding dress for a decent price and it came with a veil. They told me it would take 6 months to make, but they told me they would ship and give me no tax for the dress since I wasn't having the wedding in California. All was good until the dress came in, and they called me up and told me that I'd have to pay tax, shipping fee, and some more money to have it insured, even though the receipt said it was free. I ended up just picking up the dress and paying for the tax just to get my dress and get out of there ASAP. Their alterations are expensive - 400-500 dollars for normal dress work. I luckily did not need much done to my dress so I'll take it somewhere else, but they were snooty when I appeared happy that I didn't have to pay for extra alterations, but wanted at least $100 for pressing the dress if I had minimal alterations and did it at their site. They are out to make money, and be rude at the same time.
