During these times, with economic hardships, most businesses are working to help there customers by lowering their prices, giving out coupons or staying moderately priced. Not so at Ford's, the prices listed on the internet, while already high priced, are substantially lower than what's published in the eatery. Some of the cashiers were curt, the sodas are over priced. I ordered a large soda, which looked like a small. I?ve received better service and prices at Carl?s Jr. I called in my order and it ended up being a $17 meal, WHAT! Unless you want to throw money down a toilet don?t go until they (Ford?s) really wants your business, because right now, They Don?t deserve it! Trying to make sure my money goes back into the community is a JOKE. Until the community really wants my business, I?ll be at the restaurant chains.
Cons: I feel ripped off

Had heard good things. Hamburger was at best average and fries below average. Go to the Squeeze Inn if you want the real thing. I would suggest In n Out before Ford's.

this place has really good burgers and the fries are delicious as well. I would definitely come here again to eat because it was close to the community college as well.

OK, I can't believe how much the owner of this place does not appreciate it's popularity. The past 6 times I have gone to this establishment he's closed. He seems to not like working so every now and then he narrows the open window. The last time I went there was at 7:15pm and there he sat at the first table thru the door and proudly told me "we're closed". I had gone to this establishment many times after 8pm and never had this problem so I was bewildered. This is very confusing to me because every business owner knows how important consistancy is but this guy missed the memo. They used to be open on Sundays so one Sunday afternoon I took a friend over to have a burger and he was closed on Sundays. Then he decided to open on Sundays, but only for 3-4 hours. So I won't go back because I have given him ample chances to keep my business but he doesn't care... He wants to be closed. And it always seems to be when I want a Fords burger. I have one more scenario to report. A friend and I went to Fords at 8:30pm on a weeknight. We ordered our food and sat patiently for our food for over a half hour. Now, when you go to Fords you do not want to be in a hurry because it does take awhile to get the food prepared. So that is why we waited and waited. During our conversation the place had pretty much cleared out and the only person in the dining area was the gal who took our order. She was cleaning tables in anticipation of CLOSING (surprised?) at 9pm. At 9:03 she announces to us that "we're closed and we need to lock the doors".. We looked at her and said "You haven't served us yet, we are still waiting for our order"... She was so embarassed and the owner cooked our burgers and gave us our money back. But this does show how much they concentrate on being closed...
Pros: Food
Cons: Service, particularly that of the owner himself

There probably isn't a burger that can rival a Double Double from In n' Out, but the burgers at Ford's comes very close. The patties are handmade and the produce is fresh. Get there before 7 p.m., though, because they shut down right on time.
These burgers top the ones from The Squeeze Inn any day!
Pros: Good Grub!
Cons: They need to extend their daily hours

A lot of SoCal "Burger elitists" claim that there's just no comparison to the burgers in their native Los Angeles. Well, I don't know what they put in the Burgers in L.A., but here in the Big Tomato, Ford's is one of the best joints to grab a quality burger.
One of the more important factors in picking a Ford's burger is what size and cheese is for you. If it's your first time and you're in the typical 16-24 crowd of first timers at Ford's, male or female, your best bet is to not go any higher than the 1/3 pound with Bacon and Cheese. Most are used to premade burgers and paper-thin bacon, so they get overwhelmed by anything bigger than that. For those of you that are veterans when it comes to food of the greasy persuasion, and you're with at least one other carnivore-type friend, the way to challenge yourself is the One-Pound Football with Double Orders of Bacon and Cheese, and a constant stream of Cokes. After you've conquered that, there's not too much out there for you to seek in terms of greasy spoon enlightenment unless you happen to have the means for an excursion to South Philadelphia. My one general warning to all is to simply watch how you ask for your burger to be cooked. I can't tell you how many times a perfectly good double cheeseburger has gone to waste because someone forgot to order medium rare and got well done, or vice-versa. All in all, those in the know will tell you the places that fall into that "Hole-in-the-wall" type of appearance often harbor the best burgers, and that's no different here.
Pros: One of the best burgers in Northern, if not all of California, Excellent selection of cheese for your burger.
Cons: Always backed to the brim with people and conversation. Order to go if you know what's good for your ears.

If you want a good 'ol hamburger then Ford's is your place. There menu has some other things but the name of the establishment spells out their specialty which is Hamburgers, fries, and shakes. This place is not cheap, and just because it isn't in some fancy building don't mis judge it because their food will surprise you. Ford's specialize in the fat hamburger patties rather then the skimpy little ones you can get at those other places. This place is family owned and operated and they take pride in keeping their customers happy so their customer service is superb. This is a great place and you will not be dissappointed.

The milk shakes are to die for! Very thick and delicious. More fries than you can eat and the service is actually better than fast food joints. More personal service and after a few visits the staff and owner are interested in knowing your name. After a good burger you can walk across the street and stroll in William Land Park or go to the zoo! Sounds like a good day!
Pros: burgers!, fries!, shakes!
Cons: made to order food
