I really like this location of the 24 Hour Fitness but the only problem I have with it as you have to drive behind the shopping center to get into the location. The location is pretty large has a well educated and helpful staff. The Pilates and the Yoga classes are great and very helpful to start into a workout routine. The personal trainers are very helpful to make sure if a person has health concerns that they don't overdo in a ecercise regimine.

I've been a member of this organization for fourteen years and I'm almost ashamed to admit it. I like the fact that there are so many clubs and no matter where I am I can pretty much work out. But that's where the accolates stop. This company seems to pride itself on mediocrity, and it's been that way ever since I've joined. It's business strategy seems to be to attract younger people who don't notice or care about customer service and who are tantalized by the "pick up" energy that prevails at every single one of these clubs I've ever been to. The unkempt and actually dirty bathrooms and shower areas are now legendary with this company, and that includes the often filthy and unattended spas and saunas. Gross! But you gotta hand it to the owners, they have figured out how to keep their niche busness without invesing in what would seem to be at least relative standards of quality, and the way to do that is to cater to young people who don't seem to care or know the difference. To some degree it's our fault that this organization remains successful given its sub par service and poor facilities. Shame on us!
Pros: inexpensive and available
Cons: uninformed staff, poorly maintained equipment, unclean facilities

For any busy living individual, this 24 hour fitness location is perfect. Since it's open all the time, anytime that is convienent for you is perfect. Even tho their weight area is a little crowded, it still has every machine that is needed for a great workout. They also have indoor pools and basketball courts. The prices aren't too bad. They always have a 3 year membership plan going on that calculates out to $19 a month. This is not a bad price at all for the facility and features it provides.
PROS: great for on-the-go people
CONS: short term memberships pay a lot

I just recently completed a total body hair removal package with ALC. I moved to the Sacramento area from out of state and the friendly, helpful office staff made the transition so easy. They transferred my package without any lapse of services. The RN's operating the lasers were so knowlegable and put me at ease right away. The best part of all, is that I never have to shave again. I have had results that were beoynd my expectations. They even got rid of the gray hairs on my face. Every other laser center I had consultations with told me removal of light hair was impossible. I am done with razor burn, ingrown hairs, and stubble forever. I am so happy that I purchased a package of FotoFacials and Skin Tightening. I can't wait to turn the clock back on all of my sun damage and wrinkles. I truly cannot recommend this company highly enough. As the largest laser company in the nation, they have extensive reaserch backing up all of their treatment protocols. The two centers I have been treated at had an incredible staff that really put customer service as their first priority. At no point did I feel like I was just dollar signs to them. I encourage everyone to experience the liberation I now feel being free of the embarassment of excess hair grown and the hassle of having to shave or wax it. ALC is not just the biggest...they are the BEST!!
Pros: Great staff, Great results!!
Cons: pricy, but sooooooo worth it.

I've been going to Heather for 7yrs. Her tecnique, style, and sometimes outragious hair designs, although odd looking to me, has her clients walking out with smiles and feeling like a different woman ready for the days challenges and the nights passions.
Also impressed with her attendance at updating style classes from S.F. to London which gives her clients the edge on current and upcoming fashions.
I've recommended her to all my friends and even strangers with a bad hair day, knowing that when they leave her chair they will be feeling good about the way their hair looks.
Pros: Creative styles, relaxing atmosphere, beautiful to look at
Cons: Busy woman, need to schedule early

Joined this Gym, about 8 months ago. It's not as cheap as some of the sketchy/dirtier chain gyms out there, and while it's competitive with the local YMCA in terms of price and atmosphere, I'd say that facilities are at least a notch or two above, even if some parts are aging (ie the locker rooms). Mostly, this place is pretty clean, considering that a gym is where people go to sweat! I go here 3 to 5 times per week, and I can tell that they do regular cleaning. Nothing stays dirty for long.
I personally like the culture here. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the gym's policies seem geared to retain members - even offering discounts to members who take a series of fitness and nutrition classes. They have a free session with a trainer once a month, so you can learn good form and how to safely use some of the more challenging machines - which is nice for me because I have crappy knees. They also have a file where you can keep a work-out log to track your progress.
The atmosphere is very relaxed and uncompetative. The population trends a bit older, and you tend to see alot of amazingly fit age groupers (presumably long time members, since the club has been around for decades). It's very encouraging to see mature people who have invested years building an excellent fitness base, reaping the benefits and putting a younger dude like me to shame! It almost makes me look forward to getting older.
Caveats? I wish they offered Tai Chi classes (they do have a plethora of Yoga offerings- which my gf likes). Occasionally (esp. Tu and Th evenings) the there will be a 15 minutes or so wait for a lane at the pool. The jacuzzis are maintenanced often enough that one or two will be unavailable. The pool is colder in the summer, but if it were any hotter, people would sweat while swimming (gross). In the winter it's usually in the high 70's.

I followed Gaby from Mosaic salon to Allure's new location and I love it. They serve fresh baked cookies and a variety of beverages. The staff is very polite and the place is always clean. I recommend her for all services, she is awesome with all of them. I drive all the way from Folsom to see her and have for the last 3 years. She is also of the nicest and knowledgeable girls I've met in this high maintenance industry. My favorite services are her incredible facials and brow waxes....Love!
Pros: Location is on a main street , easy to find.
Cons: Parking
