My husband and I were married at the Sterling Hotel in February and also stayed in the Huntington Suite that night. I cannot express how wonderful the ENTIRE staff was to us! From the wedding coordinators to the front desk to the waitstaff--everything was like a dream come true. The morning of my wedding, waitstaff ordered champagne up to my room and that night, we forgot to pack toothpaste and the front desk went to fetch some and bring it to us!!! I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. If you are thinking of having your wedding here or even just staying for a night or two, we highly recommend The Sterling. Pros: ambience, service, hospitality, location Cons: none

We were looking for a reception area for our wedding a few years ago. The outside looks lovely and the inside beautiful! If I remember it right, you have to use their own caterers so I do not know how the food is. If we had a bigger wedding, this would be one of my top choices. PROS: Beautiful Victorian house, lovely ballroom, in midtown sacramento CONS: A bit expensive

This hotel is really nice. It is a little pricey, but the hotel is worth the price. I love that is Victorian, and doesn't actually look like a hotel, so it made me feel at home. The staff here were incredible. The location of this hotel can't be beat, it is close to the State Capitol. I like that the Internet here was free.

This beautiful Victorian hotel is in the heart of downtown Sacramento. A lot of history can be felt as you enter this well-run establishment. All very professional. I had my 1st Anniversary here years ago and it still shines in my heart. I went to a function here that took place in the large ballroom. Wonderful food, service and comfortable seating. The place kind of winds around with endless hallways and stairways that lead to very private and ornate rooms. It's worth the price and time. PROS: Beautiful CONS: Parking is tough

My wife and I stayed at the Sterling Hotel on our wedding night. We were extremely disappointed in the service we received. The employees were slow, unprepared, and in one case totally inept. One of the employees even took our personal information (from the guestbook, we assume) and called us at home after our honeymoon to see if we wanted help planning our personal finances. (This was noted in a letter to the hotel manager, which received no response.) Needless to say, we were extremely displeased. Pros: Location, Architecture, Room Cons: Employees, Employees, Employees
