I still can't believe that this place is so packed when I drive by. My wife and moving to Rowlett were told that this was the place to eat. The place is absolutely coved in dirt. The table wasn't cleaned. The seats were full of chips and salsa and the floors look as though they haven't been touched in years. On to the food...the chips were ok but the salsa has extremely to much chili powder in it. It is too over-powering and kills the taste of any tomato/cilantro flavor. I really think that people continue to go b/c it is so cheap. The prices are less than most Tex-Mex places. So if you need a cheap, low quality meal this is the place.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Really bad food

Great Tex Mex for a great price. Just make sure that you don't go during the dinner rush or it'll be loud and packed.

This restaurant is in an old Dairy Queen. The atmosphere is very cheesy but it does not seem to matter....the place is continually packed for a very good reason.
The food is great!!! You also get a very large portion for an average price. Fajitas will often include an entire steak on one order. They are also very generous with the Chicken Fajitas. This place is packed most every night. I have seen the enchilada plate and it has generous servings as well. The salsa is good but nothing special....it works though!!
Pros: Great Food, generous portions, good price
Cons: they often make mistakes on special orders, atmosphere is lacking

I will say that we frequent Pancho & Lefties....but do not eat much when we go. Pancho & Lefties does have the best margarita in town and they will tell you that the frozen are extra strong, but still really good! I think the reason they stay so busy is convenience and the laid back atmosphere. They have a daily special that can or can not be a good idea, depending on what night you hit it. However, I have to say that the fajitas for two are really good, inexpensive and plenty to fill you up! I don't recommend if you plan on grabbing a bite of really good mexican food though, you'll need to head somewhere else for that.

My husband and I ate at Pancho & Lefty's when it first opened and it was SO bad! The floor was absolutely disgusting---very, very dirty. The table was sticky. The service was fine. Not bad but nothing above average. The food was very greasy and they use crumbled meat for everything. The cheese sauce was ballpark nacho sauce AT BEST. It always amazes me every time I drive by how busy they are! I think a lot of people don't realize what good Mexican food really tastes like!

I must admit I've only been once. It is in what appears to be a converted Dairy Queen, and as such a bit crowded and low-brow ambiance. The food was pretty good, but a little greasy for my tastes. My wife and I plan to go back sometime to see if we still feel the same about it. I would recommend it if they were able to cut down on the free-flowing grease, and maybe let up on the salt a little. It seems to stay crowded, so maybe I just went on an off day for me or them.

This is an old Dairy Queen that has been turned into a full service resturant. The food is excellent, but the atmosphere is satisfactory. The restaurant is somewhat dark, and gets very loud during peak times. Most normal eating times require a wait. The staff is very friendly and willing to help in any way. The food is very good, and the hot sauce the best. Parking is difficult to find during peak hours.
