I went to this doctor's office on a Monday and was given a medication which I had a severe allergic reaction to. I called at 9am the next day saying it was urgent, and no one ever bothered to call me back. I was still having an adverse reaction by Friday, and when I called the lady who answered at 3:30pm said everyone was busy and no one would be able to call me, even though I had an emergency. Appalling.
Pros: None
Cons: Have never been treated so rudely in my life

After going to this practice for years, I've finally decided to move on. The reason? You have to HOUND the front office for information, follow up on scripts, etc..etc....it's just way below accepted standards. I don't doubt the doctors and their expertise but frankly, after having to hound the front office for everything after the visits, it's just not worth it.
The staff tends to be anywhere from friendly to annoyed when you call. If your staff doesn't like working there, FIRE them...perhaps a dose of this economy, or lack thereof, will do them some good.
While everyone can appreciate your overhead and the need to push as many appts through as possible, this is not the way to run a practics. If you don't want the PPO/HMO dollars, great, quict taking new patients.
If, however, you do take them, then treat aggressively, not "need to see you 6 times in the next 6 weeks so we can whack the insurance company over and over and over again until we get the revenue we need to treat you"
Capiche? Believe it or not, we work too. Long hours to boot. If you can handle the requests the first time, then do so. If not, quit taking so many clients.
Work on the staff's attitude, the economy should get their minds right.....then, try maximizing the visit not maiximize the NUMBER of visits.
You can do better. Your patients deserve it.
Pros: Doctors
Cons: Poor follow up, Customer care, record keeping

While the doctor I have seen several times was personable and knowledgeable (if a bit rushed at times), the office staff is brusque at best and rude at worst. I had originally rated this office with one star after an hour and a half spent trying to handle a very simple request over the phone, most of that time spent navigating a very frustrating phone system...but in retrospect, the quality of care I received was good, but the treatment that I received from the office staff greatly detracts from the overall experience. If they can bring the quality of the office staff more in line with the quality of the physicians, a four or five star rating would be possible.

FIRST LET ME SAY - I TRIED DR. HOLBROOKS OFFICE FOR ALMOST A YEAR. I KEPT GIVING THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT - HOPING THEY WOULD SOLVE THIER PROBLEMS - BECAUSE I LIVE SO CLOSE. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY ONLY KEEP GETTING WORSE! THEY TREAT YOU LIKE CATTLE. THEY HAVE NO PEOPLE SKILLS. THEY NEVER EXPLAIN ANYTHING. I ONCE ASKED FOR A CHECK UP AND THEY TOLD ME THE FIRST AVAILABLE TIME THEY HAD WAS 5 MONTHS AWAY! LAB WORK IS ALWAYS LATE OR LOST. NOBODY EVER CALLS YOU BACK WITH LAB RESULTS. WHEN YOU TRY AND CALL - YOU NEVER TALK TO A LIVE PERSON - EVER! I REALLY HAVE NO CLUE HOW THEY STAY IN BUSINESS!
Pros: ZERO
Cons: EVERYTHING

I just read the scathing review so I had to respond! I have been using this practice for 4 years and I loveit!! Dr Caldwell is fantastic, her nurse is friendly, concerned and very prompt (today my callback time after leaving a messge was less than an hour, and that was just about faxing some info to another doc) I have NEVER waited weeks for lab results, more like 1 or 2 days. I have NEVER waited months for an appt, more like a week to a week and a half because Dr Caldwell is so liked. AND they have Saturday urgent care hours during flu season, Oct-Mar, I believe. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this practice to everyone.
Pros: Smart doctors, friendly staff
Cons: NONE

This practice is simply horrible. There is no better way to describe it. Patients are NOT treated with the proper care they deserve. It takes days, sometimes weeks to even recieve lab results...that's if the lab doesn't lose your sample! There have been several times patients have had to come back in and have their labs re-drawn b/c the lab lost it the first time! That is horrible. The nurses are very rude, and seem like they have better things to do then help the patients. It takes MONTHS and MONTHS to get an appointment with your doctor. Unless you have a "runny nose", you have to wait at least two weeks to see your doctor. Their office managment is terrible. It seems like all they care about is making money. They continue to take on new patients when they can't even handle the ones they have. The turn-over rate in that office is unreal. From front office staff, nurses, and now even doctors (PA's/NP's), it seems like they can't keep anyone in that office longer that a few months. Considering their practice is internal medicine, many of their existing patients are elderly, and need the best care they can get. Something you will not find here. It takes days to get in touch with a nurse (if they even call you back) When it comes to your health, you should expect exceptional care, and that is something this practice is lacking!! It is a HORIBBLE enviornment, and I would NEVER reccommend anyone to go there...for the sake of your own health!! Be smart, stay away from Alpharetta Internal Medicine!!!

I have been using this practice for over a year and have been most pleased. I have not experienced any of the issues that others seem to have, perhaps it is in the choice of the doctor. It is not fair to obliterate the entire practice for the faults of one or two doctors. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great primary care physician.
Pros: Always on time - never a wait

I would not reccomend ANYONE going to this practice. Not only do they treat there patients terribly, but there employees as well. Being an employee and Patient there, i can tell you in all honesty, they herd their patients like sheep. All they care about is money. They overwork there underpaid employees, and not only that, but they insist on ALWAYS taking on new patients when they cannot even give proper care to their established patients. The majority of their patients are very elderly with multiple problems and some of their issues are very life threatening. When it is in regards to you results, medication, anything? They don't care, they will get to it when they can. To even be able to speak w/a nurse, you have to wait 24-48 hours for an answer, regardless of the severity. So if you are a patient here or are becoming one, don't get frustrated w/your nurse, or the front office staff. Who the complaints really need to be made about are Yolanda Watterson. She as an office manager enforces these rules on the employees and puts them in a situation to put patients at risk. She demands we continue to take on new patients knowing that that is putting even more of an overload of work for the staff and that patients are not getting appropriate care. Why does she do it? B/c all she cares about is money. That is why she has such a high turnover rate in employees b/c everyone QUITS! She should be reported to the Better Business Bereu! Take my advice...........DON'T GO THERE!
