One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants in the city of Boston. Friendly staff, good service, great pizza, wonderful meat sauce on the pasta dishes. Although I haven't had them, I've been told by friends that the lamb chops are magnificent.

Our closet door was cracked and we wanted it repaired, rather than buying a new door. Tony was able to figure out how to repair it and did so successfully. He had to bring the door to his shop to fix it, but returned it a few hours later and reinstalled it. He was affordable, very nice, and did the job well. I would definitely consider using him again.

Tonight was our third visit and each time Sophia's Grotto has been a real treat! The chicken dish, the salmon with mustard, the veal medallions, and the pasta dishes are superb. The Boston lettuce salad with raisins and blue cheese is delish. Sonia, the hostess, is welcoming and efficient. The waitstaff is always friendly, and attentive. The drinks are widely varied. Wish there were more dessert selections, but overall a great place to meet friends and enjoy very good food. Sit outside on a warm evening, but inside is fine if weather does not permit.

Delfino is one of those places that you think about when you are "not" there. The memory of a meal lingers deep in your psche long after the experience is over. The restaurant is warm, vibrant, and aromatic like a neighborhood european bistro. The food is straightforward, lovingly prepared and elegantly served. There is no pretense here, no posturing, no condescension or patronizing waitstaff. There's a wine list that's varied and affordable and to puctuate the evening, the very best chocolate bread budding on planet earth. I am proud to admit that in the armada of mediocre eateries, Delfino sails the seas alone well ahead of the fleet..
Pros: everything
Cons: no reservations accepted

The secret is out: the same Geoffrey's that I frequented years ago in Back Bay has been reincarnated in Roslindale Square.
It has always been a warm and friendly cafe -- never too stuffy yet offering some unique takes on classic American food. I have become glued to the steak tip salad, as the meat is perfectly seared and the greens are always crisp. On the occasions I have veered from my "usual" I have never been disappointed; in fact I have tried most of the menu offerings either myself or from a companion's plate. Only once was the food cold -- but I suspect that was the ineptitude of a green waiter rather than the fault of the kitchen. The chef is creative without trying to put the round peg into the square hole. I love the fact that he needs to expand his horizons with new offerings regularly.
Additionally, Geoffrey's atmosphere is one of inclusion. Everyone who becomes a regular (there are many) is remembered and rewarded. Brian, the manager, really does remember names and bends over backwards to ensure his customers all feel special. The dude works his buns off and asks his servers to do the same.
The outdoor cafe lends a European flavor to the neighborhood and no one is more appreciative than me. If you choose the bar, the tenders are engaging and the infused liquers fun.
Instead of folding up the sidewalks at 9:00pm as most other sit-downs do, Geoffrey's serves a later night menu. I have appreciated that greatly when staggering in after a 14-hour work day. The kitchen service is always quick at that time and before I finish my first beverage my food is normally set in front of me.
Geoffrey's is a wonderful reflection of a cosmopolitan area and sets the bar (pardon the pun) high for neighborhood gathering places. Kudos!
Pros: Accomodating GM and Bartenders, Really Good Food & Prices!
Cons: It has been discovered by "outsiders"
