I like both locations of this store. I like that nearly any fabric you want to find you will find at G Street fabrics. Anytime I've gone there looking for specialized items such as types of fasteners or a strip of fur trim or a special button, they've got something that meets my needs.
I've found that their staff is quite knowledgeable and willing to let one browse or give more in-depth help.
The only thing I don't think I've seen there is logo fabric -- if you're looking for Dora the Explorer to make something special for your grandchild, you'll have to go to Hancock' s or Jo-Anns.

G Street is a fabric lover's dream. They stock all kinds of fabrics that are impossible to find anywhere else plus an excellent selection of more commonly found fabrics. Like Malden Mills Polar Fleece---they stock the different weights and they have what seems like a million colors and prints.
They also stock high end wools, silks, linens, and imported Swiss and Italian cottons. The notions department has a lot of specialty items like velcro in non-standard colors, unusual fasteners, etc. They are also an authorized Bernina dealer with a big stock of parts and accessories.

If you are a sewer, quilter, designer, or just someone looking for an astonishing selection of material for a project, G street fabrics has something for all of you. The first floor is huge and is packed with ream after ream of all types of higher end fabrics. The second floor, if it is possible, is even larger. They sell sewing machines, patterns, sewing materials, more every day fabrics and a lot of types of trim among other things. If selection is what you want, G street will have it. Just expect to come out with more than you went in for at the start.

G Street Fabrics seems renowned for their huge selection of fabrics of all types and styles. The place is downright huge and if you are looking for a specialty fabric there is no better place to start. Not only do they carry fabric, but they also carry sewing machines and supplies, patterns and general craft items for sewing. Even if you just come in to browse, it is a new store. They offer classes, too.

This is the only G Street Fabrics I've been to so I don't know how other G Streets stores are like, but this store is so big! It has two stories, where downstairs is tapestry stuff. I love this story because they have the best selection I've ever seen. I can spend the whole day there looking at different fabrics and deciding which one to get, which is the hardest part! They haev your basic fabrics for your basic projects, to designer fabrics. They have everything you need for any sewing project, they even provide lessons. It's really a heaven for people who are
