These folks are pretty knowledge about aftermarket items for PCs. I went in there looking for RAM and only gave them the model of my Dell and they guy grabbed the right stick. They also have refurbished computers. Those have enough features to be someone’s starter computer. I didn’t ask about their Mac support at the time.

I think the Klehm Arboretum is beautiful. Most people in Rockford don't even know it exists! What a shame. Our friends actually were married there and it was beautiful. Big open spaces and very well taken care of. It's kind of on the bad side of town, but it's totally safe and worth the adventure.

This nursing home offers all levels of elder care, from separate apartment units to full nursing service in a hospital bed. Excellent, caring staff and pleasant environment. Physical rehabilitation facilities and full activity programs for different levels of patient ability. Pricey but worth it.

Don't hassle with the people at the big chain stores when it comes to buying a new television or an audio system. Primetime Audio and Video is located in the busiest part of Rockford by being on East State Street. They do installations as well, if you're not sure how or willing to do it yourself. The people there are great and they have a great selection.

Tuesday Morning is a great store if you can keep an open mind. This is a store where designer close-outs come to die. That can mean very good savings for you! I have purchased some great items here (my favorite being a Donna Karan bedcover that I paid less than half price for and a leather journal I bought as a gift for a friend that I then saw in a museum store in Chicago for five times the price). It's really hit or miss, however. You can get on their mailing list and receive snail mail fliers alerting you to upcoming arrivals. Most times, you just have to get lucky, but when you do, it's oh, so sweet shopping.

I love the Coronado. Its not downtown Chicago (which I enjoy) - but the traffic is so much better. Its a hit or miss as to what entertainment is coming to town. We've seen Les Mis and Harry Connick Jr. (who was awesome), also Itsak Perlman, the violinist who's name I've probably butchered. Everything we've been to has been very nice, priced decently and the environment is quite pretty. I really like the "starlight" in the theater.
