Best secret in downtown Rockford! Homemade hot entrees, soup and salads daily. Limited quantities, though. By 1:30 it's pretty well picked over. GREAT produce and friendly, helpful staff.

Logli's Supermarket in Rockford is a great alternative to shopping at Wal-Mart. They offer the same size food store but without the hassles of having to find a place to park. Logli's also has a great cafeteria style place to get a quick meal, which is very good and cheap in my opinion. The prices are around what they are at almost every other store, but I really like the quick meals that you can get from Logli's.

Woodman's Food market is an "employee-owned" food store. They have great prices, and the workers there are nice. They have everything your normal food store would have, but it also has things such as a video rental place in store. It is opened 24 hours, which is very convenient if you need to get something late at night. If you don't want to deal with the lines at one of the Super Center Wal-Marts, check out Woodman's.

Hilander is a food store that also has a pharmacy in it as well. There is also have a nice floral section, and a photo developing department as well. The prices on the food are normal. If you don't want to deal with long lines to shop for food at Wal Mart, I suggest going to one of the smaller food stores such as Hilander.
